My Weiser Lock won't completely turn the lock

I've got a fresh set of batteries. But the lock is not turning completely to lock or unlock. We're having to use the key to lock/unlock the door.

Good news! Weiser has a lifetime warranty against mechanical defects and problems with the finish (but only a one year warranty protecting the internal electronics). Here's the link to the warranty page:

http://www.weiserlock.com/CustomerService/WarrantyInfo/Powerbolt.aspx

But before you pursue that, a few questions and comments. How does the lock function with the door open? If it functions okay, then you need to investigate the alignment between the door lock and the door jamb/strike plate. Also, these locks can be internally adjusted for installation in doors with a 2 3/8" or 2 3/4" backset. Is it off by about 3/8"? if so, check that.
Some months ago I suggested that possibility to someone else with much the same problem. He found that a plastic member had disintegrated in that area of the lock and was jamming it up.
Here's a link to the installation instructions; you'll see what I'm talking about under Item 2 Deadbolt Latch Installation (Piece B)

POWERBOLT Weiser Powerbolt Deadbolt, not opening. even after changing batteries

You didn't say much about the lock's symptoms beyond it worked great, then stopped. Here is the link to the troubleshooting instructions. The Weiser brand and Kwikset brand Powerbolt are identical (Black & Decker), so these instructions will work just fine for you:

http://www.kwikset.com/Customer-Support/Product-FAQs/Faq/50160000000HhhEAAS.aspx

Weiser has a one year warranty against electronic malfunction and a lifetime warranty against mechanical and finish problems.
You can review it and contact them for further assistance from this link:

http://www.weiserlock.com/CustomerService/WarrantyInfo/Powerbolt.aspx

Since you've had your lock "working great for a long time", I'll assume that it's probably an electronic problem, out of warranty, and Weiser will want you to order a replacement power board at a considerable cost. You can try leveraging them with Dissatisfied Customer outrage, and maybe they'll send you the part for free. Then, it'll work great for a long time, and you will be back in this same boat again.
After more than a year on this website, I've seen far more Powerbolt problems than any other, which leads me to my opinion that it is not very reliable, to say the least. After contacting Customer Service, if they won't replace your part for free, you may wish to consider cutting your loss and installing another brand of lock. Again, it's only my opinion that you consider a Schlage lock instead.
Good luck!

Deadbolt barely moves in weiser lock

I assume that you get the same results whether you operate the lock with the door open or the door closed. That is, that you've already ruled out a bind between the closed door and the door jamb.
I'd recommend changing the battery first of all. At this time of year, cold weather can have a negative effect on your battery power.
If you've already changed the battery and are still having the problem, you should pursue having the lock covered under warranty. Weiser has a lifetime warranty covering the mechanical operation (and finish) of their locks. Before they cover it under warranty, they are going to ask you the same questions about battery and binding that I've already mentioned.
To change the battery for your lock, go to this web page:

http://www.weiserlock.com/Support/Faq/50160000000HhhZAAS.aspx

Or, alternately, this page for the Kwikset version, which is identical, if you have trouble loading the first page:

http://www.kwikset.com/Customer-Support/Product-FAQs/Faq/50160000000HhhEAAS.aspx

Notice that the above are of the " .PDF" file type. That means that you need to have Adobe Reader or similar installed on your computer to view it. So if you are unable to view the file, download (for free) and install Adobe Reader first. You can get it here:

http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Finally, the warranty information link:

http://www.weiserlock.com/CustomerService/WarrantyInfo/Powerbolt.aspx

Review it, and then follow the "Support Contact" link on that page. It's always best to contact them by phone and seek their assistance.

Good luck--and please provide feedback if this helps!

After replacing the batteries on the Weiser powerbolt, the unit will work fine for several locks and unlocks. The lock will start beeping, and then the keyboard will go dead.I have tried changing batteries...

Since you've already gone through the battery change, this suggests that you need to replace the appropriate Powerboard for your lock.
So this is the link to Weiser Customer Support Page:

http://www.weiserlock.com/en/CustomerService/ProductSupport/SupportContact.aspx

I suggest calling the appropriate toll-free number and having a conversation with a representative about this problem, first of all to confirm that you need the part before you go through the expense. Secondly, your lock may be new enough for you to talk them into warrantying it, and thirdly, they will be able to get the correct part on order for you.

I hoe this has been helpful. Good luck!

I understand that you've already checked for any mechanical binding within the lock and between the lock and the strike plate--(does this problem occur when the lock is cycled when the door is open?)

I'm including a link to the troubleshooting page for your powerbolt:

http://www.weiserlock.com/Support/Faq/50160000000HhhZAAS.aspx

If you don't find a solution here, although the lock is beyond its one year warranty, I'd still contact Weiser Customer Service (preferably by phone) and appeal to them to help you troubleshoot or replace your lock. Here's the contact information:

We,ve never been able to get it to work and my husband in his infinite wisdom never keeps instructions etc. How do I program it to work I hope this is the right product. the picture looks correct.

Let me assume that you've already installed the Powerbolt 1000 (the one that matches the picture!), so let me link you to the Troubleshooting instructions, which illustrates how to open and reprogram the lock:

http://www.weiserlock.com/Support/Faq/50160000000HhhZAAS.aspx

Please install fresh batteries at this time.

Also please take a look at this link,

http://www.weiserlock.com/Support/Faq/50160000000HhmZAAS.aspx

which tells you how to locate and change the jumper to set the lock up for a door which is "right-handed" or "left handed"-in other words, what side the door hinges are on as you face it from the exterior. If the jumper is set wrong, the lock will not function properly.

Lastly, here's a link to the Weiser cutomer Support contact page:

I programed the lock. It beeped in recognition of the code, but the lock doesn't turn. The batteries are okay. How do I get the door to lock/unlock using the keyless pad?

if the batteries are new and good, sounds like a problem with the lock motor..is it a new unit? if so exchange it. try another set of batteries.
