Put the belt on as you best can then spin the brushroll several times. if all things seem smooth thenyou have the belt on right.

Hi x3 lachina x...
Check your beater bar to make sure it is moving freely, if it is not it can cause belt breakage like you are experiancing.

The bristles will not spin.

See if the belt (that drives the bristles) if is loose or need replacement. The belts are located either on the left or right side of the bristle brush(you can locate it by putting the vacuum upright and see under the brushes). If it is loose or broken replace it(walmart has replacements for it or any hardware store)just bring the belt for the replacement number written on the belt,or know the brand and model number.

I need to know the correct belt for my Eurecka Boss 4870 Refurbished. Every time i put the belt on it brakes.

the correct belt for this machine comes in a package. It should be Eureka Style R belt. (61110-A)

Pic attached.

This is the correct belt. Anything else will just snap right away.

Remove the brush bar. Then link the belt onto the motor spindle. Then insert the brush bar into the belt and snap it back into the vacuum chassis.

Belt on motor roller

no only take the bottom off ,there will be three screws, take the belt put in over the shaft of the motor , loop it ,run it over the silver spindle to the brush assembly ,replace the brush in the slot that it came from, the belt now is over the motor shaft running over the spindle ,and over the brush assembly, replace the three screws and you should be good to go.

How do you put a Hoover runabout belt on vacuum

I found this on another site and it worked for me. RonL

Looking at the brush, remove the two screws from the black plate holding the brush. There are two clips that holds this plate once you remove the screws. This should be easy to remove with a flat type screw driver. Now is the tricky part to remove the top cover of the vacuum so you can access the compartment to put the belt on. The whole top part of this vacuum comes off. If you look above the part where black plate was, there are two more clips on the top left and top right hand corner. These two hold one end of the top cover. It is not as simple as pushing the clip to one end to slide out. You have to find a gap between the edge of top cover and bottom structure(right next to each clip) and shove the flat screw driver in and push the top cover away from the bottom structure and push down the top cover. You will notice that there are invisible hinges between the two which locks in the top cover.

Do the same procedure for the bottom right and left edges(right next to each end of the brush) of the vacuum and separate the two(bottom structure and top cover) out using the flat type screw driver..

Problem with a WindTunnel 2 Extra Reach Bagless Upright (U8351900)

My dad fixed it by putting the spring under the arm lever and the roller on the outside part of the belt than in the inside as I have been trying to do.. I did however put one part of the spring in the right area of the vacuum. In a hole on the bottom area of the inside. The spring that is bent in a 90 degree angle doesn't go on top of the extend part of the arm lever but underneath. My dad did wounded the spring a bit tighter than it original is. That fixed what many days and hours of my frustration in less than 5 minutes (That's how long it approximately took my dad to fix it and in one try)

Vacuum motor shaft too hot

Check the brush roll ends, will they turn easily or is one frozen. If so, you need to replace the brush roll. If the motor turns on, it and the belt are trying to turn the brush roll and can't. Also check the ends where the brush roll sits in and make sure it hasn't overheated and melted., If it did you will have to replave the base.
