how can my one year prescription has expired when I purchased it on 12/7/07. It will not expire until 12/7/08.. Your answer therefore, was inapprorpriate and not useful, because your solution said my one year subscription has expired and gives me information with that false assumption. Please resubmit a useful relevant to the problem answer. Thank you Joyce

Hi 2cjoyce,

What is your version of Norton Internet Security ?
You bought a Norton product which gives you 1 year free subscription, a subscription gives you protection and updates from Norton center.
Now that the 1 year you got has passed, you need to renew your subscription to Norton in order to regain protection. You will have to pay some little fees to renew your subscription.

When Norton notices that you need to renew your subscription, a window will open asking to you if you want to renew the subscription.

    Hi 2cjoyce,

Yes, our answers were wrong but you cannot rate it as "inappropriate", a "thanks for trying" is a more correct rate. People here try to help you, don't respond at them like that.

Verify that you have not changed the date of your computer because Norton rely on that.

You might ask Norton support for help.

Most of the Norton antivirus comes with one year subscription. date u mentioned here seems like more then 1 year old. That's why it says expired
If you dont want to spend any more money on antivirus then uninstall this one and download AVG from this site. this is really good antivirus for free and good for ever.

Are norton security says that are security status is at risk.tried fix now a few times, doesnt work.says spyware defs at risk.virus spyware scan at risk.protection updates at risk.please help

In my experience Norton can become flakey at times. Make sure your subscription to norton has not expired. Otherwise try un-installing norton and re-installing it. Part of it may have become corrupted.

You can download the trial from the Norton website. Then call them to get your key code, unless you have it saved in an email or something.

I have norton 360 and the pc tune up keeps saying outdated files left on computer but even when i run the scan it is not doing anything and the big red cross remains

Hi,
You need to run an update.
This will check Nortons Site, for recent Downloads. Anti-virus definitions Files et,c.
If you have only purchased a trial version, or version has Expired. Then it won,t let you access thier database without paying.
To resolve this, you could un-install Norton. And Re-install.
ensure your connected to the Internet before attempting updates.

If i can assist further please post-here.
