Why did the red power light go off yet the dyson 25 appears to be working fine

I just checked and the vacuum is picking up, brush bar is engaged, but the red power light went off.

Hi Carol,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your Dyson vacuum cleaner. As DC25 doesn't feature any indicator lights, your machine is likely to be DC28.

If the machine continues to run and pick up as normal, but the on/off switch indicator light has gone out, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly so we can provide further assistance. Hi its Darran at Dyson.

Simply switch the machine off and stand it upright. Press the brush bar on/off switch once and then turn the machine back on.

When you release the machine into the vacuuming position, the brush bar should start to turn again.

Beater Bar/Brush Won't Turn

Sometimes dust,lint and thread can work its way into the bearings on both ends,take the beater bar out and see if you can turn it in your hand,if it doesn't inspect the ends and clean them.Use what ever you can find to pull out the threads.Or take it outside and hose it off.
