Samsung hln507W has turquoise blue color cast

The TV has turqouise blue in places where things should be shiny (people's foreheads and noses) and in the sky (instead of the normal blue). All other blue colors seem to be fine: blue jeans, blue hats, etc. The TV makes no loud noise, although a minor humming began to occur a couple of months ago (not audible above the tv audio).

At this point, the TV also has red horizontal "noise" where black should be. Help! I just put in a new light because I thought that may have had something to do with it. One more thing...recently, the picture has been going off momentarily when I switch on/off a nearby light (all my lights are CFLs). I am attaching a couple of pics that may help.

Thanks for the solution offered, but the problem now is more that the red is dominating (blue issue is still there but is not as severe as it was). I cannot post more than one photo, so hopefully you can see what I mean from the photo I posted. The read also appears on black clothing and hair in the picture, not just in the black space at the top and bottom of a non-HD picture. Thanks for any advice you can offer!

May be a voltage band adjustment might do the trick for you? Was reading this article yesterday and found it very helpful for fixing a set with a similar issue. Dont worry about the sony.. This is a generic problem

I think you may have an issue with the convergence chips which will need replacing. Replace BOTH chips at the same time. The IC's you are looking for are STK392-110.

You could always try a hard reset first - Unplug the power and cabling, wait about 2 hours and redo cabling and plug back into power source. Should the issue still occur, try the hitting the TV gently but firmly along the sides. If the distortion disappears, then that could indicate a cold solder or solder fractures on the board. Warning: If you do not have a background in electronics repair, or are inexperienced, get a qualified technician to fix it for you.

REMEMBER, there are very dangerous voltages inside a TV that can KILL. Be sure to work SAFE when dealing with electricity. DISCONNECT THE POWER BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING.

Hope that helps!

If you would like to attempt a DIY, I suggest getting a service manual first. You can get it here:
    http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/

They also have spares and provide free online assistance while you attempt the DIY job..

    Hope that helps!

Turn down the red screen adjustment just a bit and see if this helps. Also try to keep the TV as far away from any source of magnetic interference as well.

If the lines are horizontal, then it would be the vertical deflection driver that could be the source of the issue.

Since it is highly likely you do have a loose connection or cold solder joint(s) you should do this:

Open up the back cover so you can get into the main boards. Using a
long wooden stick as a probe and a mirror out front so you can see what
is going on with the picture, gently probe around until you find the
hot spot. That will help you isolate where the problem is on the
    board(s).

In my honest opinion, I think you should get a qualified repairman to take a look at this..

    Cheers!

Samsung HLN507W turns on for about one minute then shuts off, three blinking lights stay on in front. It is not the lamp, nor the blue lamp cover switch for sure. I unplug it and immediately turn it on. It always does the same thing: comes on for 1 minute, then powers down - there is no wait time in between unplugging and powering on. All fans seem to work and I cleaned the dust out of it. Help.

The jumper that you need to remove is a small usually black block of plastic approx 1/4" in across and 1/8" thick located near the center of the shiny silver colored apparatus into which the color wheel is plugged. Mine had a label that read FDB Bearing Color Wheel, BP67-00099A and two illustrations indicating open and shorted conditions. The label was just over the jumper. I pulled it out with needle nose pliers and the problem was solved. GndLoop
