Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.

SOURCE: I have a Canon Power

Go to start>run. Type in msconfig, under startup, see if there is something referring to the canon software. If there is, un-check the box next ot it.
Then go to the control panel > add/remove programs> scroll down and see if you find the canon software. Delete it from here. Then try to re-install.
If it is not in add/remove>
you may have to go into the registry and delete all mention of the software.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Computer won't upload pictures from camera

You neglected to specify the make and model of your camera, so I'm going to assume it uses a memory card of some type.

Cant not get my integrayedwebcam to work i have a averatec al in one 18.4

Important notes
The computer communicates with cameras with photo softwares required installation. Photo software installed has to be compartible with the brand camera. Generic photo softwares installed on the computer can recognise any built-in cameras, camera connection attachements. Once, a photo software has been click opened, the features fucntionalities of capturing snap shots, editing, and saving are made possible from any available camera devcies. Built-in computer cameras have already installed softwares locatable on the menu programs task bars.

A separate camera used to acquire photos elswhere requires connections to the computer from which manipulations become possible. Any already existing photo media softwares would recognise to intergrate a camera connection. For the camera to function while connected to a computer would require the feature functions of an opened photo editing program.

Note 1
A computer built-in camera can perform on the network only by opening the photo windows software provided on the web. The internet web cam for example provides the opportunity to search and locate any cameras attached to the computer for network communications. Such an instance easily recognises the built-in computer camera. A separate camera would require connection compartibilities to the computer systems, and possibly the network type. A network that provides photo camera softwares incompartible to the cameras connected to the computer would require generic softwares installations for communcations to take place between camera, computer, and a network of computers.

The cd rom on my acer x1200 is not working. When I load a cd into it, it won't start up

Just check the connection of your cdrom on the My computer if they have appear. If the cdrom was display in the My Computer just clean the cd lens of that cdrom. Remove the cdrom from your computer and open the cd lens then clean it by the piece of cotton and add a small amount of alcohol then rub on the cd lens. After that insert back the cdrom then try to power on your computer and if the problem are the same not solved. Just replace the cd lens of your cdrom, But if the cdrom was not display in the My Computer just check the connection inside if the power supply of the cdrom are connected to its back.

Could be Hardware or Software problem, try below suggestions 1 at a time to pinpoint the problem.

Hardware:
  1. Restart Computer with USB CDRom not attached. Then attach.
  2. Make sure power connector to USB CDRom is firmly connected.
  3. Change to diffent power outlet for power supply of CDRom
  4. If connected to USB Hub, disconnect and connect directly to the computer.
  5. Try a different USB port on the computer
  6. Use a different USB cable (if using an extender, disconnect) Cable should be 6 foot cable or shorter.
  7. Try a different external CDRom drive to verify it is not a problem within that unit.
Software:
  1. Do windows update. Also Choose CUSTOM update (3rd option is drivers). Update all drivers available.
  2. Download most recent drivers from manufacturers website and install.

When you try to reinstall it and it tells you that it's already on there, does it give you the option to continue? If so, then continue with the installation and it will restore any missing files. Please let me know if this helps.

Transfer folder(s) of pictures from my Kodak EasyShare program to 'My Pictures'on my computer. having problem with 'Burn cd/dvd' application on EasyShare software.

you're not trying to burn the pictures to your 'MyPictures' thing.

close that and go get the EasyShare disc, your EasyShare Kodak camera (i hope) and your transfer cord

Plug your transfer cable into the camera from the small end, and the large end into the USB port of your computer. This allows the computer to recognize the camera and begin building adapters for it.

Insert the disk for the Kodak Easy Share program into your disk drive. Go to your "Start" button and hit "Run." This will bring up a window allowing you to choose the letter of your disk drive to find the file to run. Your computer may have Autorun, so it is possible you do not have to follow this step. If you do not have Autorun, click on the letter of your drive and choose the "Easyshare.exe" file when it populates. Then hit "Run" on the bottom of the window to continue.

Click on "Next" on your Install Wizard when it begins. This sets up the program to be used if you do not already have it on your computer. Click "Next" on all following boxes, as this gives you the basic set up and files needed to run the program.

Wait for the program to begin. Once it has populated the window with a gray Kodak Easy Share block at the top of the window, you are ready to begin. Click on "Add Pictures" on the top left corner of the window. A new window will generate. Go down to the last half of the window on the left and click on the Kodak Easy Share file. This is where your pictures are being taken directly from your camera, which is the drive or USB port it is connected to.

Choose on the next box the folder you wish to save your pictures under. You can opt to leave it in the Easy Share folder, or to rename the folder for the type of pictures you are uploading. If you have wedding pictures, you could right click on the folder and hit "Rename." Then type in "Wedding Pictures" and click anywhere on the screen. This will save your folder name.

Delete the pictures from the camera after they upload is an option you can choose to click on if you want your camera erased when the pictures are done. If you want this, click the box next to the "Delete From Camera" option under the folder name area. When you are ready to upload, click "Done" in the bottom left corner of the window. Now you have uploaded your pictures to your computer and cleared your camera.
