First of all, thank you very much for choosing FIXYA today for your online technical support needs.

Here is a direct link to the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for that model:

http://www.uniden.com/content/ebiz/uniden/resources/ownersmanuals/DECT1480-2om.pdf

To view the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and blue highlighted text just above.

This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents, although many computers already have this type of utility pre-installed.

You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary.

Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, then follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.

See page 10 of the manual for detailed instructions on how to adjust the volume on the handset and base set.

Basically to adjust the volume of the handset earpiece, just push the UP ARROW on the big round button in the middle of the handset keypad. Make sure the handset is already on when you do this and that you can hear sound coming from the handset earpiece.

See page 5 of the manual for a labelled diagram of the handset buttons. The UP key is the activated by pushing the top part of the big round center button which is located immediately below the main display screen on the handset keypad.

I truly hope that was helpful to you.

Good luck and take care.

Joe.

I have an uniden exa 2980 and losy manual, how do I obtain a copy.also how do I turn up ring volumn?

Uniden has the manual for the EXAI2980 here: https://www.uniden.com/File%20Library/FooterNav/Product%20Information/Owners%20Manuals/exai2980om.pdf .

Do you need to adjust the ringer volume of the base, the handsets or both? To set the ringer volume of the base, start with the phone in standby mode (no calls being made or received) then press Menu 4 times (the right-hand button in the row above the volume up/down buttons). You should hear the current ring volume and see it displayed on the LCD screen. Press Set (the left-hand button in the row above the volume buttons). Press Skip/FF or Repeat/RR (the buttons on either side of the Play button below the LCD screen) until the desired ring volume level is displayed. Press Set to save the setting. Press Play/Stop to exit the menu system. See page 38 of the manual (page 40 of the PDF above) for the directions.

To adjust the handset ringer volume, press the handset volume up or down buttons with the phone in standby. The last chosen ringer tone and volume will be saved. See page 16 (page 18 of the PDF). Sometimes, the handset will not ring after losing the security code that pairs it to the base. Remove the handset from the base. Press and hold Page on the base (between Set and Menu). While the handset is sounding the paging tone, replace the handset in the base. Leave the handset in the base until the flashing stops (more than 5 seconds). See page 47 of the manual.

I hope this helps.

I have a new uniden cordless D3097 series phone and I can't figure out how to have the handset ringer on and the base ringer off. When I turn off the base, the handset stops ringing

The Silent button on the D3097 is a global Do Not Disturb button. To reduce the ringer volume, press the Volume Down button on each handset when the phone system is in standby (not in use). When you have pressed the Volume Down button to the point where the ringer is muted, you will see an icon of a bell with a line through it.

See pages 6-7 of the manual for the details. The manual is available here: http://www.101phones.com/content/pdf/uniden/D3097.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Turning the ringer on my phone. uniden 6.0

Without the model number of your Uniden phone, I don't know which silencing feature you are dealing with.

Some Uniden handsets have a Silent Mode. To toggle this on and off, press and hold the # key (below 9) for 5+ seconds when the phone isn't in use. When the silent mode is enabled, the handset will ask for a length of time for the 'no-ring' option. If no key is pressed, then the Silent Mode will continue until the # key is held again.

Other Uniden phones have Do Not Disturb. The button to enable/disable this will be on the cordless phone base. The answering system will automatically turn on and none of the handsets will ring when this feature is enabled.

You can also set the ringer volume to zero. Depending on the phone, you can reset this by pressing the volume up/down buttons or going through the menu. Look for the Ringer Volume in the same section of the menu as the Ring Tone options.

If you need additional information, please add a comment with the model of your phone. I hope this helps.

I have Uniden DCX700 phone- how do I turn the ringer on and off?

The DCX700 is an expansion handset for several different Uniden phones (DCT746, DCT748). To change the volume of the ringer, press the Vol + or Vol - button with the unit in Standby (not making calls). There are three ringer volumes: Off, Low and High. Pressing the Volume buttons will let you cycle through the list. The volume buttons are to the left of Talk below the LCD screen.

You can temporarily mute the ringer by pressing Mute while the phone is ringing.

The manual for the DCT746 is here: http://www.uniden.com/content/ebiz/uniden/resources/ownersmanuals/DCT746Mom.pdf . All Uniden cordless phone manuals are available in numerical and alphabetical order here: http://www.uniden.com/scat/cordlessphones_mnl . The manual for the DCX700 handset (with registration information) is here: http://www.uniden.com/content/ebiz/uniden/resources/ownersmanuals/DCX700om.pdf .

I hope this helps.

How do i turn up volume

Without knowing the model of your phone I can't give you a definite answer, but on many Uniden handsets there's an up-arrow button that will let you increase the volume during the call.

You can download the manual for your phone by selecting the model number from the list beginning at

Can't get the volume turned up on my uniden dect

While you have the phone handset off the base and turned on, try pushing the top or bottom part of the big round button in the top / middle part of the handset's keypad to turn the volume up or down respectively.

Here is a link to all the Uniden cordless phone user manuals:

http://www.uniden.com/scat/cordlessphones_mnl

And here is a link to a user's manual for one model of that phone (DECT 2180-3):

http://www.uniden.com/content/ebiz/uniden/resources/ownersmanuals/DECT2180-3om.pdf

To view the Support Page or the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents.
You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary.
Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, the follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.

See page 5 and 10 of the manual for detailed instructions on how to increase the volume of the ringer and speaker.

Basically it operates as follows:

Your handset has a four-way function key.
Press the top of the key to increase the ringer volume (while the phone is in standby) or speaker volume (while you are on a call).
Press the bottom of the key to decrease the ringer volume (while the phone is in standby) or speaker volume (while you are on a call).

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck and take care.
