Believe it or not the phone is still possibly wet inside and its a very small amount of moisture shorting across something which is causing this spurious reading on the screen. There are a few ways to dry it out thoroughly, but I have always found the best method is to leave the phone on top of a radiator on a low heat setting for a couple of days and that usually does the trick. Please do not try to dry it out quickly by leaving it on a hot radiator or damage will surely happen to the phone. Good luck.

Numbers 2, 5, & 8 do not work on my Uniden 6.0 cordless handset.

IF YOU ARE mechanically inclined you can take the phone apart and under the rubber keypad and contact board, with a small amount of soapy warm water on a cloth rag, wipe the gold contacts and the board, the keypad can be lightly scrubbed with a tooth brush under running warm water..NOW dry everything ! reassemble. it might be soda pop that's blocking contact or dog drool ? (my dog says the cat did it !) any how this is your best chance, and is not that difficult of a task, works for tv remotes too but they are harder nut to crack, generally phones come right apart, tools needed (small screwdriver kit) good luck Patsy. and if'n I was of any help, a reply would be nice.. jay

Ok i droped my phone in the water and now it works like it used to but my phone wont charge the battery and its the phone and i dont want to buy another phone and i took off the insurance so what can i do

Good news is that the phone works luckily the only bad news to give is as a question to you. Did you put the phone and battery in a bowl of uncooked rice seperatley? the rice kernels **** moisture up nicely; and its possible that the battery needs that. Shake the battery and see if there is any water still coming out. Regardless if water comes out of it or not I would use the rice like I explained before. Hope this helps. Also how long ago did you drop it in the water?

Electronics do not like liquids - especially those containing milk, sugar, salt etc.
.
Do NOT try to dry out with heat or a microwave.

You could try this for the handset:-
Remove the battery cover and disconnect the battery.
Let everything dry for at least three days with the battery cover off.
After everything is dry, reconnect the battery and replace the cover.
Do not reconnect the phone line to the base - as phone calls will interrupt the charging.
Recharge the battery for at least 15 to 20 hours without interruptions.

If the base got wet:-
Disconnect the AC adapter to cut off the power.
Disconnect the telephone cord.
Let everything dry for at least 3 days.
Reconnect (and cross your fingers).

It is a wise safety precaution to have a safety-cutout plug or switch to avoid electric shock (to you and your equipment).

Droped phone in water

you can take the battery and the back off the device and place in completely submerged in a bag of white rice and leave it in there for 1 to 2 days this will help absorb the moisture, this should fix it if the water did not damage the circut boards if the water damaged the circut boards then the device is fried

Phone droped in bucks fizz last night worked first thing today now nothink 5800

remove cover /sim/battery leave in a hot press for a day or two if it works great if not you can say goodbye as insurance wont cover water damage and you will get a letter stating beyond economical repair which means to fix it will cosst more than the phone cost in the beggining

I droped my phone in the water

Most likely it will not work anymore. But if you are lucky, it can. Let it dry on a towel in a window sill for a day. If it doesn't work, save the SIM card memory stick (etc.) and get a new phone; or you can try again. The same thing happened to me. Three days later it worked again.
P.S. Don't get a Motorola RAZR. They break easily and get all kinds of problems.
