Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

Our washing machine is only about 3 years old and it has started leaking from the left hand side down the bottom on the washing machine. It doesnt appear to be any pipes, it's coming from the actual machine

Usually in a samsung
the pipe from the drum to the pump
inside the machine
comes away from the drum
the pump end is secured with a clamp
the drum end is a push fit
there is glue on the push fit end
but the amount is miniscule
Silicon adhesive: Contact Cement: glaziers glue: all work
the model number given does not show in my samsung lists so I cant give you exact instructions for accessing the pump hose, nor can I be certain that this is the exact fault

Not a solution, but somewhere to start

The back and sides are one piece. The front comes off (two clips under top, one on each side about 2 or 3" in from outside - two screws on bottom directly below clips). The top will lift up on the rear hinges, the front lifts about 0.5" and comes off.

its not the pump, if it was you would have lots of water usually, a small leak could be a hose or hose clamp that needs adjusting check that first

Leak

Hi, If you remove the lower half of the front panel, you will be able to see the pump and hoses. Another option is the bellows around the door. Please let me know if this helps or if I can assist you further.

Thank
Vic

The washer fills with water but will not complete the cycle. Since it started this, it did finish 2 or 3 loads sporatically, but doesn't seem that it will even do that now.

We had the same problem. Luckily, we bought a 3 yr extended warranty. The appliance tech came in, pulled out a screw driver and tightened the lid. He said the left side frequently comes loose and that is where the sensor is that tells the machine the lid is closed. Tighten up the lid and see if that solves it. This washing machine BLOWS. We have had the warranty people out 4 times since we bought it. It's only two years old. First there was no hot water, the tech opened the machine and the connecter to tell the machine to use hot water was never connected at the factory. Water leaking from the bottom, don't remember what that was. Oil leaking from the bottom, replaced trnsmission seal. Fills with water and stops, loose lid. What a lemon.
