Question about PC Desktops

I have a high grade lap top and for one week as the computer starts up after 3 nins it closes down i have done all the anti virus scans and restores , i can only use it in safe mode please help

If this computer is new, than I would probably start by contacting the vendor, and then the manufacturer. I have seen computer do this because the CPU overheats, or due to a memory problem. Usually, with both issues there are others symptoms as well, such as errors, or just the computer being slow.

Tuvaro virus, can't remove.


Restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8 key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to repair your computer.
As the computer is booting repeatadly press the F8 key as the computer is booting

If done properly the user should get to a screen similar to the below screen.

Select the option for Safe mode command prompt only
Windows Advanced Options Menu
Please select an option:
Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt
Enable Boot Logging
Enable VGA mode
Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)
Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
Debugging Mode
Start Windows Normally
Reboot
Return to OS Choices Menu

5.Select a system checkpoint or an installation restore point, and then click Next.

6.Close all other programs.

7.To start the system restore, click Next.

8.Your computer restarts.

Repeat steps 1 through 8 until you fix your configuration issue.

Few tips.

1. Try to updated your anti- virus always.

2. Use original anti-virus support.

3. Minimum try full system scan 3 days a week.

4. Before open any external memory device ( Example : hard drive,pendrive, memory card, mobile, etc ) don't forget to scan.

5. Symbol of virus infected device is Auto Run option. ** if you use a pen-drive then just right click on drive, if your seen the top option is Auto Run / there is 2 time showing Auto Run that's mean the device infected by virus."

6. If you think the system not going fast then before just run scan only SYSTEM 32 folder which is located inside C: drive> windows> system32.

7. Weekly once clean your temp internet files, recent use document etc.

Anti-Virus Program detects virus but after re-boot...still there!


Ever wonder why it is that when your Anti-Virus Program detects a virus and apparently seems to contain or delete it, the virus is there all over again after a re-boot and the Anti-Virus Program once again contains it or deletes it? Seems like a never ending battle right?

Well here's the reason and the solution:

1) Reason: Bill Gates

A smart and nice man no doubt about it but he overlooked one thing about Windows: ANY Anti-Virus Program out there, by default, is NOT permitted to even knock on the door of the System Restore File. So what happens when your Anti-Virus Program halts, contains, or removes a virus? The virus is there ALL over again in a vicious cycle it seems. Why? Because the Virus IS allowed to knock on the door. In fact, a virus can even step foot so far inside the system restore department that it actually BACKS ITSELF UP...in the system restore file. THAT's how the never ending battle occurs!

2) Solution: Ahhh...got your attention now don't I? Hmmm well if you really want to know how to put the brakes on this vicious cycle, first I'm going to need you to create a PayPal account and then...only kidding here is the solution:

Answer: Once your Anti-Virus has detected a virus..don't waste ANY more precious time trying one thing or another. You MUST at that point, TURN OFF YOUR SYSTEM RESTORE FOR ALL PARTITIONED DRIVES! Once the system restore is OFF, THEN and ONLY then would it make the most sense to perform a FULL-SYSTEM scan. You see, full system scan to an Anti-Virus Program does NOT include the restore file, while a virus DOES! So, with the restore off...now we're fighting on equal terms and your Anti-Virus will prevail!! Just remember to turn the restore back on once you have confirmed you have a clean system.

Yep! that's the answer that would save you HOW much $ ? (from having to call Geek-Squad or similar outfit)

Here's the procedure for turning off the restore and there is more than one way to get to the ocean so to speak but here is the shortest route I believe:

1) Point mouse at <start>
2) Right-Click mouse on <my computer>
3) Left-Click mouse on < Properties>
4) The very top left tab click mouse on <system restore>
5) Put a check mark in the box that says <turn off system restore>

You're done! Now perform that full system scan now and after the scan is complete, ....point that mouse over that box again but this time...take the check mark OUT of the box and this will allow restore to function once again. Same holds true for desktops as well as laptops running virtually any version of Microsoft Windows.

On my desk top computer, I received a ThinkPoint (fake) Anti-Virus. I did CTRL, ALT, DEL. Task window opened and I deleted hotfix.exe. I also ran malwarebytes anti-malware. problem seemed to be fixed....


Run Malwarebytes again but before you do turn off system restore. There is probably a reboot hacktool in the restore volume. Windows will not allow Anti-virus programs to scan there by default so the only way to kill the hacktool is to turn of restore. The hacktool reinstalls the virus as soon as you reboot. So turn it off, run malwarebytes and another program called Cureit! http://www.freedrweb.com/cureit/?lng=en save to desktop (it's free too) when you run the program it doesn't install it runs a quick scan first then offers you a full scan after the quick scan. Also a very good program. Run them both. After you're done turn system restore back on and create a new restore point. Good luck

Got virus av guru, how do i remove it?


Hi

I know the last soluation will not have heklped as the av guru stops you from opening anything even IE so here is what u do.

Turn off your Computer!

Re boot and as oon as you get the start box appearing click on it,
Click All Programs
Accesories
System Tools
System Restore

The system will shut down automatically and resotore will start.
Leave this to run select a dtae 24 hours before you got virus and all will be well.

Trust me I had it early this week .

Once done run anti virus software, Spyware, Reg cleaner and Defrag

This will sort it completely.

NOTE:- You do have to be very quick with starting resore OR virus wil stop you opening anything.

If you have a virus you can not delete or if your system will not boot up correctly and you suspect a virus is the problem, a recommended solution is to start your computer in safe mode and run a virus scan. By running your computer in safe mode, non-essential processes do not start and non-core components are disabled. In other words, only the minimum necessary programs will load. Tough to remove viruses, spyware and other malware usually have no chance to run and disrupt your system and can more easily be removed.
**To run a virus scan in safe mode, you must have active anti virus software installed on your computer.
To run a virus scan in safe mode, follow these steps:
  1. If your computer is on, shut it down
  2. Power on your computer
  3. Immediately after you power on your computer, repeatedly press the [F8] key (about once per second)
  4. In the Windows Advanced Options Menu screen, use the arrows to select Safe Mode and presss [Enter]
  5. Select your current operating system and press [Enter]
  6. Select the user you would like to login under (if applicable)
  7. When your system finishes booting, click the Start button on your task bar
  8. Move your cursor over All Programs and navigate to your anti virus program
  9. Click on your antiv virus program to run it and follow the anti virus program’s normal steps to run a virus scan
  10. After the virus scan is complete, Delete all detected viruses
  11. Close out of your anti virus software
  12. Restart your computer (it should start in normal mode)

go to accessories /then tools/then restore/and do a restore before you added that software, make sure you do a backup of recent files or info you added to programs

Computer is 3 weeks old.DLL module missing.cant open mirco works.did scan on computer,3000 errors were found


suggest downloading avast anti virus home addition from the avast website here , the home adition is free and auto updates, free to register too. after you have installed and done a pc scan with avast anti virus, may i suggest that you type in the specific DLL file you want from the google search engine. many sites sould have one for you to download. please get the anti virus first as your pc can get infected as soon as you turn one on. 'ad aware', ccleaner are two other programs i personally use and wouldnt be without either. good luck :)
