Question about Sony Network Walkman NW-HD3 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Transferring files back to my PC from my Sony NW-HD5

There is no problem if you use the software (SonicStage) to transfer music TO the NW-HD5. The problem is that I'm looking for software that can transfer the files back again as now a lot of the tracks aren't on my computer; they are just on the MP3.

Yours from confused Birmingham I want to transfer the tracks from my NWHD3 sony player back to my new PC but it says the tracks originated from another computer. Is there any way I can get the tracks off my NWHD3 and onto my laptop.

First off when you transfered them using the sonicstage software it put what are called digital media rights that locked that file to the pc that loaded it, dont worrie there is a way... open up the mp3 player in one window and find the music you want drag it over to your desktop, then get a program called tunebite and that should help

I want to add video songs via sonic stage but they are not added..

Hi,

The NWZ-S616F Walkman Player is not transferring the music using the SonicStage Software. Sony old Walkman player was using the SonicStage Software for transferring the files. You can use Windows Media Player 11 or higher, Media Manager for Walkman, Content Transfer Software or Windows Explorer for transferring the files to the Player.
Click here and select the operating System to download the Software for transferring the files.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I have a sony network walkman nw-e55. the problem is that windows 7 doesn't recognize the device and i can't transfer music to it. install sonic stage didn't solve it and i can't find a driver that works....

Hi,

The NW-E55 Walkman Player is compatible only with the SonicStage Software for transferring the songs. Unfortunately, the Software is not compatible with the Windows 7 OS and won't be able to transfer the songs from the Windows 7 OS using the SonicStage Software. Only option to transfer the songs to the Player using the Software is via Windows XP or Vista. However. once you install the Software and transfer the songs, you've to use the same computer to transfer or delete the songs again.

Thanks for contacting FixYa.

Nw-s736f not play mp3 why

You should be using SonicStage software in order for you to play mp3 files on it. But there is another way of transferring music on it via drag and drop. You can use MP3file Transfer Software.

You need to transfer the music onto the player using Sonicstage software. This program encrypts the music files so that the player is able to read them. You can download it here - http://support.sony-europe.com/dna/downloads/downloads.aspx?f=sstage_dl

I hade just that prob. "format error" used to display. I did this:
1. dwl sonicStage (free)
2.- in the walkman went to menu/initialize/format
then displayed a confirmation screen, I confirmed
it displayed "formating...... COMPLETE"
3.- THEN plugged into the PC and transfered songs with Sonic
and it worked!

I have Sony NW HD5 MP3, had to replace hard drive in my laptop.

SONY Walkman MP3 players are incapable to transfer from the player to PC. It's a copyright thing. since your hard drive was replaced, your PC is no longer the same one that the player originally had tracks transferred from (according the the MP3 player).  So, ultimately, those tracks will remain on the player until you remove them, they cannot be transferred back to a PC. I understand the annoyance, it's a pointless function, but for some reason, it has importance to SONY.
