Nvidia 9500GT driver stopped responding?

Its on the latest driver on windows 7. Internal temperature of the system is around 40C, but the card hits 74 (note:card came without a fan). it becomes OK when I reduce the clock speeds, but of course i need to be able to use the card's full capabilities. I want to know whether this is a heat problem or something else so that I can safely invest in a fan. Thank you everybody in advance :)

If 40C is your system temp at idle you may want to add an intake or exhaust fan on your case. You want to have the same amount of exhaust flow as intake especially if you are adding a graphics card. I also find it odd that you vid card did not come with a fan. 74C still should not be high enough to cut your card off either. It sounds like you have a defective unit.

Hi.

You may install the Pixel Shader 2.0 Applet by installing the latest Driver for the Nvidia GeForce 9500GT Video Card.

You may download the latest Driver from the below link:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us&ptid=1&psid=51&pid=0

Open the above page and select the Driver as Nvidia GeForce 9500GT and then select the Operating System.

Download and install the latest Driver.

After you have installed the Driver, restart the Computer for settings to take effect.

Installing the latest Driver should install the Pixel Shader 2.0 Applet.

Hope this helps.

Please feel free to contact for further assistance.

Thank you.

It sounds like you are downloading the wrong driver.
You don't mention whether you are running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7.
RIght click on "Computer" on the Start Menu and select properties to find out.
Then go to http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us , download and install the latest driver. Restart the computer to complete the installation.

If this helps please vote for my solution.

My nvidia 9500gt drivers stop responding during gameplay and the game crashes and throws me out on windows

While your computer is on, see if the fan attached to your video card is working. If it does, check the temperature inside your cpu. Overheating is one of the reason for logging out on window during online games. If possible additional cooler fan must be install inside the cpu. If that did not help suggest you replace your video card.

Have you installed the proper monitor drivers as your main display? Also at Nvidia they have a large selection of new drivers for this. From what I have read, it only seems to happen with Windows 7. What operating system are you running, and also what Monitor do you have?

Installing a geforce 9500gt. Will it work?

Yes, the Nvidia geforce 9500gt graphic card is compatible with most Intel motherboard . And for installation, you just place your graphic card in the expansion slot of PCI Express x16 and install the latest driver from the nvidia site.
