Its on the latest driver on windows 7. Internal temperature of the system is around 40C, but the card hits 74 (note:card came without a fan). it becomes OK when I reduce the clock speeds, but of course i need to be able to use the card's full capabilities. I want to know whether this is a heat problem or something else so that I can safely invest in a fan. Thank you everybody in advance :)
If 40C is your system temp at idle you may want to add an intake or exhaust fan on your case. You want to have the same amount of exhaust flow as intake especially if you are adding a graphics card. I also find it odd that you vid card did not come with a fan. 74C still should not be high enough to cut your card off either. It sounds like you have a defective unit.
