Pen Drive write Protect

This can be simply removed by changing the position of the write protect lock on the pen drive body. Please refer the figure.

Hi Sir myself piyush gajera sir i was used my pen drive from winxp to another os version. afterwards it gives me an error that disk is write protected. i tried to remove or format but again it gives me prob that it is write protected and not able to format. i used different solutions but unable to format or remove write protected. please help me. how can i remove this write protection. sir my email id is piyush_gajera147@yahoo.com kindly mail me as soon as possible. my Pen Drive is transced d33193. and it has no any stick to remove write protected. Thanks in advance. i have the same error while deleting or formating my pen drive My transcend 4GB pen drive when deliting data it ask to remove the write protection while formating the disk it shows write protected. when copying data it ask to remove the write protect

its probably a virus trying formating on windows 98 or on linux based system may work for u also check when the pen drive isnt connected properly or the usb port or connection is loose it may say a read only pen drive due to slow speed connection of pen drive to computer

Hi Virus or Trojans can run some process that keeps running in background. This not only harms the computer, but also prevents the pen drive from formatting as it shows that the drive is in use. Remove and re-insert the pen drive, don't double click on drive and cancel auto run operations if it starts automatically. Run a virus scan on pen drive, this will help fix the issue. Now format the pen drive.

the drive isnt write protected the usbport or the connection is loose so that the computer is showing the drive as read only drive also you can format it using command and also setting off the read only attribute that may have been put by a virus also softwares like usbcillin makes pen drive writeprotected take care

Hey, the transcend pen drives usually have a small switch on the side of it, ie to turn the write protect on and off, usually a small lock symbol on it, the problem with unreadable files names etc, could be a corrupt partition, i would suggest formatting the drive as long as you aint got any important information on it,

I OWN A TRANSCEND pen drive of 8gb when i try to copy or format the command it shows is "cannot create,remove the write protected"what shall i do .the pen drive is very new
