Question about Logitech LX 710 Keyboard/Mouse

Open Question

Keyboard registry keys can't switch back.

My CTRL key was not working the last time on my old keyboard, so I didthe registry change by doing this by swapping CTRL with Caps Lock :
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlKeyboard Layout];
"Scancode Map"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,3A,00,1D,00,1D,00,3A,00,00,00,00,00

Butnow I can't switch it back, I bought a new computer and I have to pressthe keys the other way round [Caps Lock is CTRL and vice versa]

I also changed the registry by adding this :

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlKeyboard Layout];

It still didn't work. So I need urgent help.
I'm currently using a Logitech NewTouch 100 now.

My son switched uses of the ctrl and the Windows keys. How do I revert back to original uses. My son does not recall how he did it and I have googled trhis but to no avail

Probably he changed the registry using "regedit" (run it: Start, type regedit in the box, Enter)
Here is the keyboard layout location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout

For your information, there is an apps; it is called SharpKeys. It can change the key function very fast.

Configure keyboard buttons

Status: No need for registry backup, the 1.1 version of the software allows you to delete all key modifications within it, in order to return your keyboard to normal.

I came across a nice utility for changing keyboard keys in Windows. It's called Sharpkeys. Basically, you open the program, select which keyboard key you want to change (such as Left Alt), and choose what key you want it to actually be (such as Left CTRL). Here's the website:

On the 7405gx, it will do all of the keys except for the Function key and the special hotkeys that control volume, mail, etc. For example, I assigned the "'\" key to the left of the spacebar to be "Left Alt" and the left alt button to be "Left CTRL", because those keys are more natural for my fingers to press. Physically the keys look the same, but their functions are now different.

Once you've installed the program, open it and you will see a black screen with green text and some buttons. To add a new key assignment, do the following:

1. Click the "Add" button
2. To select which key will be changed, click on the "Type Key" button on the left under "Map this key (From key):" and click the "OK" button OR select the key from the list.
3. To change what character is actually typed when you press the key, do the same as #2 except choose the "Type Key" button the right under "To this key (To key):"
4. Click the "OK" button.
5. Click the "Write to registry" button.
6. Click the "Close" button.
7. Restart your computer or logout. When you load back up, the key changes will be in effect.

You can revert to the original state by clicking the "Delete all" button.

This is a neat program because you can change your laptop keyboard keys to do whatever you want. Please post any comments, questions, or suggestions and I will update this post as necessary.

How can i disable my verr.maj. on my acer laptop?thnk you

This problem occurs when you inadvertently switch the language of your keyboard by simultaneously holding down the left 'ctrl' key and the left 'shift' key for 3-4 seconds.
To resolve:
Press 'ctrl' on the left side simultaneously with the left 'shift' button for 3-4 seconds; this will switch your keyboard language up to the next in queue. Keep doing this until you get the desired one (i.e. english US or whichever keyboard of preference that you have selected).
If you plan on only typing with only one type of keyboard, then you can disable the above ctrl-shift hotkey sequence and avoid this problem in the future. The instructions to do this are as follows:
1. Go to: control panel --> clock, language and region --> region and language --> keyboard and language tab --> change keyboard --> advanced key setting tab
2. Select/highlight 'between input languages'
3. click 'change key sequence'
4. Under 'switch keyboard layout' select 'not assigned'.
5. click 'ok'
6. click 'ok'
Hope that helps!

I hit the shift key too long on my keyboard at work and it asked it I wanted to filter the keys Or whatever and I clicked ok. Now my keyboard is not working. What do I do?

Do you mean your keyboard is now not responding as it should do, or completely not working ?
If you press the SHIFT key 5 times in succession, a box appears asking if you want to change the 'sticky keys' function in Windows.
This means that instead of holding down the keys for SHIFT. CTRL, or ALT, you can just press them once and they will lock on (like an old style manual typewriter used to behave).
It's most likely you now have sticky-keys turned on, so your keyboards going silly.
Press the SHIFT key again 5 times, and that initial box will appear again. Make sure you click on CANCEL using the mouse only. That should fix it.

IOGEAR KVM gcs632U. Set up notes that to "toggle" between PCs you press SCROLL LOCK twice. My keyboard has no SCROLL LOCK so to change you are supposed to press NUM LOCK + "-"...release "-" after 1...

OK well usually in the "Setup" you can "Assign" whatever keys you need, so can't you change the keys used to what you have? ALL Keyboards have scroll lock, it is probably just "Hidden" for instance I found one accessed via pressing a Blue Fn Key and then F12. Look carefully for "Other: small writing on keys.

Can't switch ports using PC keyboard

Make sure that your keyboard is connected to the keyboard port of the switch. The USB ports on the switch has pictures that indicates where the keyboard and mouse should be connected.

The hotkey combination is CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + Port no.(1,2,3 or 4) + ENTER

Note: "tap the keys one at a time and not at the same time"

Compaq laptop can't get the ? symbol

Looks like the French keyboard mapping is still in effect.
You can try changing the keyboard keys back to where they were by pressing:

Left CTRl + left Shift at the same time. then try typing the ?/ key. You may have to try this a couple of times to get it to work.

If it does work, try the right ctrl/left shift key.

Also found this:

Control Panel, Regional and Language Options, Keyboards and Languages,
Change Keyboards. Select the keyboard you that's causing you grief and
choose Remove.

If you don't remove the keyboard map, when this switch happens, you'll have
to exit the application you're in (Outlook, for example), change keyboards,
and restart the app. Changing keyboards without restarting the app doesn't
seem to change the mapping.

Hope this helps!
