Video + audio out of sync with Sony Vegas Movie Studio

Hi

Just tried rendering an hour long project in Sony Vegas Movie Studio into avi format and the video and audio are not in sync. Tried it with both NTSC & PAL formats, same result.

Any suggestions would be very welcome!
Thanks

Mark

Hey guys,
i tried something which worked...but i dont know if this is solution for all video formats....
Unlink the audio layer from video...and delete the audio layer.
Use any program to extract the audio from the video file - i extracted it as a WAV file.
import the wav file as the audio layer....
and render....
the output was alright...
but now i am facing another problem! :( Vegas closes without any warnings during rendering....

hope this was useful....

Sony Vegas Movie studio 8.0 - I put in pictures, video and music, but only the music plays. No video or photos appear when I play the video

Because Sony Vegas support WMV, MPG (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4), MP4, MOV, ASF, SWF, FLV, etc. It doesn't support .avi format. So I want to know your video files format.

If ur video file format is .avi format or other video format that Sony Vegas doesn't support. We need convert AVI files into WMV, MPG, MP4, MOV supported by Sony Vegas. AVI to Sony Vegas is a good solution to import AVI to Sony Vegas for editing.

Video Converter Platinum is the most advanced AVI to Sony Vegas Converter software which can convert HD videos (inc.HD TS, HD MPG, HD MPEG, HD MP4, HD AVI), TOD, MOD, MTS, AVI (DivX, Xvid, etc.), QuickTime Video, 3GP, VOB, etc to Sony Vegas.

My Nikon Coolpix 7900 digital camera produce .MOV 640x480 dv films. They can´t be used in Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8d.I can play them in Quick Time and VLC player. What to do?

Hello there amarylis_la_.

Here's your GEEK-steer ...

== INTERPRETATION ==

What I'm hearing is:
  • It's not well enough that you are able to view the output of your Nikon (or at least not with Quick Time and VLC player only), but you wish to edit it as well?
  • Your Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8d cannot open/import your Nikon's produced files?
  • Your Nikon produced output files are extension .MOV?
== ANALYSIS ==

If all the above is accurate, then I'm a bit perplexed. Here's why:
  • Per the publisher's own webpage, version 9 accommodates import of "AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MOV, WMV".
  • Mmmm, so then maybe Sony Vegas Movie Studio only added .MOV format import capability sometime after your version 8d?
  • However, although I couldn't easily find a specific import spec list for version 8d, this publisher description states version 8d can "edit video in nearly any format". Given the fact that version 9 does accept .MOV, and .MOV certainly being common standard enough to reasonable be expected to apply as "nearly ANY format", it seems strange that you're unable to open/import it.
== QUESTIONS ==
  1. Are you receiving an error message of any kind upon attempting to import/open the file?
  2. Is .MOV listed in "Sony Vegas Movie Studio"'s open/import "Files of type:" drop-down list?
  3. When analyzed with G-Spot, what video codec info (upper right) is reported on your Nikon output files?
== CONCLUSION ==
  • If indeed your Sony Vegas Movie Studio cannot import your Nikon produced video, AND you require being able to edit it, your only option is to get another video editor/converter that will.
  • If you post back describing what your specific objectives are (set-top DVD Player/portable-device playback, clean-up editing, more comprehensive creative editing, etc.), I'd be happy to recommend capable freeware/trialware software choices that will "FixYa" up (pardon the pun).
Thanks in advance for posting back ...
  • to let me (and others) know how things worked out,
  • if you have any further questions,
  • to provide clarification or feedback.

You need to make sure you have the audio stream in the download, it will be on a seperate channel, look at the program, the audio and viideo are seperate, If you need help I will be around, hopefully someone who is helping you has used the software before, I have it on my machine, and it can be a little intimidating at first, just look for the seperate audio.
