Switching off Teledata - Phillips Trend 3

Hi there,

I have a Trend 3 Phillips tv, flippin old but crystal clear quality. The problem is that this tv allows you to play games, check the weather and tv schedule, teledata i think it's called, but everytime i watch something the screen goes blank and a 100 appears on the top right hand side of the screen, the sound still plays but the screen goes blank.Very very very irrating cuase i loose the picture.

Is there anyway that i can switch off teledata cuase i think that is causing the problem, it's like it's trying to update itself.

Thank a million!
Fats

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: Component Video Problem

The problem is not with your tv it's with your dvd player. You have to go into the setup on the dvd player and change your output setting to component.

You most likely have the updated drivers. You may have to go and change a setting. I found an answer on the PS3 website that may be of some use to you. I hope this helps you: http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3&message.id=1662191 From the site: "go to bd/dvd setting and set the "108024hz" option off"

Do you get any indication of power to the unit? Mine didn't.. the light next to the power button didn't come on. Turned out it was just a fuse inside the unit. So, take it in for repair and hopefully its a simple fix.

TV picture not clear

First we need to know a little more details about the kind of TV you have, the kind of service (Cable, Satellite or off Air).
Comparing showroom to your home is also something we need to know. Was the showroom using Cable or Satellite. Satellite will always have a better picture quality wise.
If you are using composite input for the signal path between TV and source this would not produce a High Dif picture Composite = Yellow for video, red and white for audio. If you are using Component source that will produce a HD signal cable is RED/BLUE and Green with different audio.
The best quality is using an HDMI cable, this is all in one cable and the sources is the best. One last thing, if you are using the RF *cable as source it will not give you a quality signal.

My BD530 player doesn't play all movies clearly. Some come cover good others re all snowy

When properly connected to a High Definition display or TV, Blu-Ray Disks (BD) should play crystal clearly. Inserting an old "non-Blu-Ray" disk (or the original "DVD") in the Blu-Ray player will display a comparatively "fuzzy" picture. This is the difference between High Definition and Standard Definition. A "BD player" can not "upgrade" the picture quality on DVDs to that of a BD or High Definition picture.

Rent, purchase or choose Blu-Ray Disks (BD) whenever a choice is offered to view the High Definition version of a movie or video. Selecting the DVD version will provide the lower quality or Standard Definition version of the same movie or video.

Check the covers or disk itself to determine if the movie or video is in DVD or BD format. That will tell you what you can expect for picture quality.

I hope this helps & good luck! Please rate my reply - thank you.

The colour has gone on all channels - analogue and digital. The set is 3 years old HD Phillips the digital receiver is also defective as it keeps switching channels

Probably not the TV as for it to work in black and white the colour has to work. Possibly a cabling issue between digital receiver and TV

Gateway laptop to phillips tv

Hi, there, pleasy clarify the following:
What is your Gateway model? Is your TV an older tube type or a new HDTV? Does it have other input ports besides the standard cable input and the RCA you mentioned? You may be able to use S-Video if your laptop has the output port and so does your old TV. Or if you have a newer laptop that includes DVI and you have an HDTV, then you can use a DVI to HDMI cable which by the way will result in the best image quality.

return it. Nothing but problems in the future. 6 pixels is the threshold of the tv's quality guidelines most manufacter accepts burnt out pixels as a price of doing business meaning that there warrenty will not cover it.

My 42 inch plasma wont turn back on after power cut?

Hi,
We purchased a phillips plasma 50" in july 06 and it cut on and off 5 or more times a day I called phillips customer service they told us it was due to the cable company they came out and changed the tv jack gave us a new box and tested the lines said everything was ok. The problem still kept happening got back to phillips and they sent us a flash drive to update the info in the tv. still kept happening told us it was due to tv being sensitive to power flutuations. well we are now 5mths out of warrenty and the power board blows up! phillips will not do anything to help the person I spoke with admitted we were given bad advice the bill was estimated at over $500 so if I were you if its still under warrenty make them send someone out to look at it, Reading up on phillips tv complaints this seems to be a common thing By the way phillips customer service sucks dont rely on them to help you much. good luck
