At the end of the hp driver installation wizzard it is supposed to recognize the printer connected at the usb port. in this case it doed not! i have checked all the connections ( power, usb). the system is not able to see the printer at all. this usb port works fine with all the other devices. therefore the problem is not really with the usb port. this is a new printer. PLZ help!

do you have original CD with you? Un install the drivers, run the CD, connect printer when dialog box appears to connect check system recognized?.. yes do rest of the installation process.. check for the print..If printer not recognized, formatter faulty, buy new printer...

You have to browse the software driver that you downloaded and look for scanner driver. Run the installation again. If the software driver is not complete, you can download here: You must select first the operating system and look below the drivers.
First of all, the HP C6380 must be connected locally from the PC that you are using. You can then use the scan option from your printer or scan option from the control panel of your system.
ensure that the driver for your printer is installed. and create a printer in printers. use your printer wizzard to do this. once the printer is created connect the printer using the usb cable. then right click the printer icon in the list or follow wizzard to print a test page once this printer is in your printer list, you can right click the icon and set it to default printer. this will then be the printer all programmes will use when printing. or you have to select it when you press print in the file menu of your programme to select which printer you want to use.
