The sim you are using is block by the recent update to your firmware.. downgrade your firmware into 1.1.4 version and google zibri's software and use it to openline your iphone again..

Invalid sim on unlocked 3gs

Some of the reasons why sim card getting not recognised in your mobile
1.Bad SIM -if it wasn't unlocked you'd get a message asking you to enter a PIN.Get the pin from an online vendor like http://www.classicunlocking.com/apple-iphone-3gs/rs17wp9/
2.With a warning that you have 10 attempts to enter the correct PIN code or it could be locked forever ,if you don't get that message it's "mostly likely" unlocked.BUT find a phone with a known working SIM and see if it will work and connect to the network.
3.May be a hardware problem try flashing with a custom rom.
4.This has to be a problem with the SIM card slot, which is soldered down to the logic board. It's possible that it's a mechanical problem , you might be able to open it up and discover that the card-detect switch is failing to detect SIM card insertion.
5.The os system has been updated (by jailbreaking) and your phone is not being recognized with the right settings , this happened after a update a year or two ago..

I have old iphone just got it from my friend and when i connect in itune and updates its software this problem appears ""the sim card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported ...

I would guess that you had received an unlocked Iphone, and the software update had fixed what apple saw as a problem. I would google the keywords of your inquiry. Do you know if you have the same cell phone carrier as the phone was originally sold as (at&t, or whatever other companies sell them). If you are using the same cell carrier company that the phone was purchased for and didn't switch, I would bring the phone into the company's store and ask them what the problem is. If you did have an unlocked phone, then, you may have to unlock it again. This is my best guess...hope it helps

Iphone keeps telling me my SIM card is not recognised. I take it out and then put it back in. It gets recognised initially, but sooner or later (1 min - 1 hour) it will go back to not being recognised....

Try This:
1. Remove Sim Card
2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears
3. Replace Sim Card
4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.

Also, Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

I was in Itunes and was asked if I wanted to update to Iphone 2 and I chose Yes and after the update the iphone was locked and Itunes said that the SIM card is not supported

Thank you for contacting Fixya Support I am glad to assist.

What you may need to do is eject the SIM card and then re-insert it and try to update your iPhone via iTunes again.

According to Apple, the iPhone has to contain compatible SIM cards from a supported Carrier and only those cards may be used to activate iPhone.

So make sure you have the right SIM card that is supported by the current carrier you have for your phone service.

I hope this information helps.

Iphone PUK code

Hey I can solve this!!!!!!!!! ok step 1 : do you have friend that has a sim card? well if you do ask to barrow it then insert it step2: go to itunes and your iphone should come up step 3: ask him or her to insert there Billing Zip Code (i forgot to mention this, when itunes reconizes the iphone it will ask you to register it or whatever click continue) and ask your friend to put his or her personal **** such as email address an LAST 4 DIGITS OF SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER!!! step 4: when thats done it have to install then it will let you into itunes then sync your music, videos yadda yadda yadda then pop out the sim card WARNING do not put your real sim card or it will do this **** all over again ALSO i do not know yet how to make calls or just look up fring its a app(FOR FREE on itunes) that allows you to make calls WITHOUT SIM CARD look it up
Overall (depending on the speed of your computer ) it should take 5-10 minutes and aslo you have your friends number programed onto your iphone but its better than trying to guess the PUK/SIM PIN
