It has to do with your GPU. It is held on by X-clamps on the bottom. When they heat up they flex and it releases the presure off of the censor on the GPU. This can cause sound to go out, sound and video to go out, and can cause the red ring of death. The xclamps will need to be replaced with machine screw. Also the silver compound on both the GPU and CPU will need to be replaced. I own an Xbox 360 repairs shop and I would be more than happy to help you out. How do you get your xbox 360 to play, on a 65'' mitubishi projection tv,its connected but nothing comes on screen when i put a movie in just a blank screen and no sound,if i'm on a channel, the channel...

Hello

The Xbox 360 connects to a TV using either

- COMPONENT (red blue green for video, red and white for audio

- COMPOSITE (yellow for video, red and white for audio)

- HDMI

So, if your TV is on a "Channel", it is not on the correct input to view the Xbox 360.

Check the Xbox and verify which cables it is using to connect to the TV. When you find this, follow the cable to the back of the TV and find the input selection. It should be listed as the type and a number (i.e. HDMI 2, COMPONENT 1).

Have the Xbox on. Use the TV remote and use either the INPUT or the MENU options to change the input to the input that matches the port that the Xbox is connected to.

This should make the Xbox work.

When you are done with the Xbox, use the INPUT or MENU to change back to the tuner to watch TV.

How do i hook my XBOX-360 up to this tv and get 1080i resolution? Thanks, Mike

You should be able to get 1080i with the Input/DVI port or the component video in ports of the TV. I believe the easiest option will be to set the XBox A/V switch to HDTV and use a component video cable (red, green, blue) from the XBox component out to the TV Component In. (with the audio out going to your TV or speaker system). Turn on the X-box and the My Xbox > System Settings. Then Console Settings > Display and chose the 1080i.

Set the TV Net Command (remote) and the Device settings for the input jack in use (component 1/2). Adjust the A/V menu for the Display before playing long.

Wen you change inputs, you will see a status screen for the settings for the TV input.

I hope this helps.

Trying to plug in my xbox and can get sound but no picture

Is this the first time you've tried plugging in your Xbox?

Is it Xbox or Xbox 360?

Try plugging it into another TV yet?

I've had a similar problem where I've manually set the resolution of my television on my Xbox. I had it set up for 1080p and then plugged it into my little CRT. The picture was all scrambled and I couldn't do anything. I had to plug it into another TV to fix it. This is the original Xbox by the way.

Check the settings on the Xbox, and if that doesn't work, try swapping out the cables or put it on another TV.

Xbox360 hd hookup problem---1080i

Your component cable is probably switched to the HD setting. You have to switch it back in order to get video when hooked up to a regular TV.

Plays dvds on xbox 360 fine, but no picture for games/dashboard

already solved it. thanks. i couldn't see the xbox settings blade because of the blank screen so switched my component cable to the tv setting instead of the hdtv setting, then i could see the dashboard in non-hd and switched the resolution to 720p while simultaneously switching the component cable back to the hdtv setting. that worked.

HD resolutions

Your TV would have to be HD ready and will automatically set itself to 1080i, but if you go into the XBOX 360 console settings' the top menu enables you to change resolution, but if the x box does not recognise 1080i it will not show up. See if 720i shows up as this is still High Def. and also that 60 Hertz is the setting and not 50 hertz
