How do I turn down brightness on my hp Windows 7 computer?

Hi,

Below are instructions to adjust brightness on HP laptop

    • Press the "Fn" key with the computer turned on and hold the key.

    • Press the "F7" or "F8" key on some HP laptops, which are printed with a small sun icon on the key. The sun icon is filled on the function key for dimming the laptop. The other key is printed with a hollow sun icon for brightening the screen.

    • Press the "Fn" and left arrow keys together on some HP laptops to turn down the brightness. The "Fn" and right arrow key will increase brightness. Press and release the right arrow key repeatedly, while holding down "Fn," to decrease the screen brightness slowly, or hold the keys to darken the screen as low as the setting will go.

  1. For HP Monitors

    • Press and hold the down arrow key on the front panel of the monitor below the screen to turn down the brightness on the external monitor to the lowest setting.

    • Repeatedly press the down arrow button to dim the monitor gradually.

    • Press the up arrow key on the monitor to increase brightness.

I have a TI84 plus texas instruments i have removed both the batteries in order to reset the unit but it still has not resetted the unit. All I am getting all zeros on the screen

First try removing all four AAA batteries and the small lithium backup battery (above the four AAA batteries). Leave all batteries out for five minutes, then replace them and try to start the calculator. If this doesn't work...

Replace all but 1 AAA battery. Press and hold the "CLEAR" button on the calculator. While holding the "CLEAR" button down, replace the missing AAA battery. While still holding the "CLEAR" button, turn the calculator on. The display should read "RAM Cleared". Release the "CLEAR" button and press again to remove the message.

If that doesn't work, remove 1 AAA battery again. Repeat the preceding instructions with the "DEL" key: With the battery removed, press and hold the "DEL" key. With the "DEL" key held down, replace the battery and turn the calculator on. The screen should say "Waiting... Please install calculator software now." Release the "DEL" key. Download this program onto your computer (from Texas Instruments). Connect the calculator to the computer using the USB cable provided with purchase. Run the TI OSDownloader program and follow the on-screen instructions to re-install the calculator's operating system.

  1. First make sure that your iPod’s hold button is of. (This is the little switch at the top left corner).
  2. Move the hold switch to the on position and then move it back to off.
  3. Hold down the Menu button on the clickwheel and the center button at the same time. Hold these together for 6-10 seconds. This should restart the iPod. You’ll know the iPod is restarting when the screen changes and the Apple logo appears.
  4. If this doesn’t work at first, you should repeat the steps.
  5. If this doesn’t work, you should try plugging your iPod into a power source and let it charge. Then repeat the steps.

NEED TO KNOW HOW TO PROGRAM REMOTE; WHAT BUTTON TO PRESS -

There are different methods for different remotes and the follwing are the basics. First you will have to put the remote into the mode for the appliance you want to program (TV, DVD player, Receiver, etc.) There should be a slider switch or a button that corresponds to each device. For example if you are attempting to program the remote for a TV do the following.

  1. Step 1 Turn on the TV.
  2. Step 2 Open the battery panel of your remote and find the model number if applicable.
  3. Step 3 Find the codes for your remote model and the brand of TV you are using by going to the list provided with the remote.
  4. Step 4 Press and hold the TV button on the remote. Because you are holding down this key, the ON/OFF key should stay on.
  5. Step 5 While still holding down that button, hold down the ON/OFF button. The ON/OFF button should turn off and back on.
  6. Step 6 Let go of both buttons. The ON/OFF button should be lit.
  7. Step 7 Enter the four digits code (or codes) you obtained in step 3. The ON/OFF key should blink once.
  8. Step 8 Press the ON/OFF button. If the TV doesn’t turn off, wait 4 seconds and press it again. Repeat this process every 4 seconds until the TV turns off.
  9. Step 9 Once the TV turns off, you must press STOP in order to save the codes.
  10. Step 10 Try to use the remote control functions, it should work now.
Repeat the process for each device you want to program into the remote. I hope this helps.

When i hold down a key i do not get any key repeat action. I've tested the keys using keyboard repeat in my control panel and i just bought a new keyboard yesterday and still i can't get Any keys to...

Go to Control Panel >
Accessibility Options and turn off the Filter Keys option. Also click the
Settings button for it and disable the shortcut (by default, holding down
the right Shift key for 8 seconds turns it on). You should probably disable
the other two accessibility options, too, to avoid unpleasant surprises.
