Centrios internet radio gives dhcp timeout

My Centrios internet radio will no longer connect to the internet since I started using a new router. It says "Network not ready" and the "DHCP timeout"

It doesn't matter whether you connect with LAN or Wireless. Same problem.

This is likely because out of the box, the firmware for this unit doesn't support WPA2 and even certain variants of WPA. I recommend: configure router for WEP or even open (i.e. unencrypted) connection, connect unit, go to setup/update firmware and let it update from network, power cycle, reconfigure your router for WPA or WPA2 security, attempt to reconnect unit to wifi. The updated firmware supports more formats and may allow your new router's config to work. You can also try doing the firmware update over the wired LAN port. Hope this helps.

Need to set up belkin. bought today, however the set up software cannot be started. have no idea why?

you don't need the software, just connect the router to your pc via an ethernet cable, go to your web browser (internet explorer, firefox, etc) and in the address bar, type 192.168.2.1 once there, you should be able to configure your router for your internet connection

Tip

Sylvania SYNET07526 Owners

For all owners of the Sylvania SYNET07526:

Do not fill in the "OWNERS PROPERTY BLOCK"
filling in this block of information with the Network ID, Password, and Domain will block your machine from connecting to the Internet.

To check this information, do the following:

Click on Start
Double click on Settings
Click on Control Panel
Double click on Owner
Click on Network ID Tab
If any information is in the blocks, remove and leave blank
click on X in the upper right corner to go back, click on start and shut down

Push the power button to start up. Note: holding the power button down for about five seconds ensures a start up . If you have trouble starting up.
Flip the machine over and find a small hole about 1in. diagonally from the right lower corner of the data plate. Insert the tip of a tooth pick into the hole and press down for about 10 second, with the AC power connected to the machine. It should re-load a fresh copy of the operating system

To populate the WiFi with password information.
Double click on the WiFi icon down in the right corner tool bar, it looks like a small computer with two small arcs radiating out to the side. If it has a red X under it, this means you are not connected to the internet.

When you double click on that icon a window opens up named RT701. look to see if the fields are filled in.

Address Type: DHCP
I.P.Address: 192.168.1.(2,3,4...your device number)
Sub Net mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (your server I.D.)

If Not:

Click on Wireless Information tab, wait for your wireless name to come up.
Click on your network name.
Click on Connect.
If the connection needs a network key(password) it will switch to Wireless Network Properties.
Uncheck "This key is provided automatically."
This will allow you to position your cursor in the Network key box and type your Network key.(password)
Click on OK.
You should see your red X down in the right corner disappear.
You are now ready to sign on to the Internet by typing your choice URL in the Internet Browser.
Note: that all internet locations are not available to CE 6 as this will only sign on to internet sites that can funnel you to the smart phone abbreviated sites. Not all sites have the ability to do this and your machine does not have enough memory to render the "Big" sites sign on window.
If you use the included "You Tube" apps icon, then this directs you to the abbreviated YouTube site. If you try to sign on to the "Big" YouTube site, it will give you a browser error
.
Stay tuned for other TIPS.

Cannot get internet from router to

If I understand correctly you want to use the router as a gateway for an sat. receiver.
This Netgear router can be connected to devices that has TCP/IP connections (RJ45) ports or wireless IEEE 803.11 b/g, and that can get the IP address statically or from DHCP (router). Toshiba can do that and therefore it is working fine. If sat.receiver is not device that can behave as a PC (processor etc.) it can not get IP address and router can not "see" that device, therefore router can not let "something invisible" to connect to the internet.

Computer has no ip address after I restored it please help daughter is riving me crazy.

First thing you want to do, is to make sure all the network cables are plugged into the correct devices such as your router, modem and the computer. if all is running well (everything is blinking with lights) go to your computer, open the control panel, select network connections and open it. Right click on the Local Area Connection and right click on it and select repair. Wait for about 2 mins. After that restart your PC. Try to get on the internet. If you are still not able too, you will need to go to the command prompt, you can do this by selecting start then run, type in 'cmd' and enter. You will see a windows that pops open, it should see somthing like c:\Documents and settings\john> or somthing like this. type in 'ipconfig /all' you will hopfully see a ip address and alot of other information. the ones you will need to look at is to see if your dhcp is enabled if it is then this will give you a auto ip address if it is not, you will need to get a static address from your isp. You will try to see if you can communicate with the IP address by typing in 'ping ' then the ip address. for example 'ping 192.168.1.23' if you have not packets lost, then that is a good thing. then try to ping your gateway, this will be your router ip address. you can find this ip 'Default Gateway' if you are able to ping this, you should be able to go online fine. 570081d.tif

If you are still not able to fix this please let me know and i will be more then happy to help. keiffertech@techie.com

Network cable is plunged but pc is not in network. It doesn't ping to another pc and in workgroup it shows only this pc

do you have a device on the network rounning as DHCP? if so,
go to
start>> run
type in "ipconfig/release"
when you get a prompt, type in "ipconfig/renew"
try to pin the other computer.
if not, then you need a router or modem can act as DHCP.

Limit or no conectivity problem

I understand that you are using the Windows Internet Connection Sharing to share your internet connection to your other computer.

If you don't have a router to share the connection then you are using Windows ICS connection.

When you enable ICS, the network adapter connected to the local area network is assigned a static IP address of 192.168.0.1.

You can check this site for more information
http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/ics_xp

You can try to connect the two computers first without the internet connection.

Example : PC A 192.168.0.2
You can set the IP addresses manually, just set the tcp/ip properties and from that area you can set the IP address manually.

And for PC B 192.168.0.3
You dont need to set the ip address for the gateway and dns since you are just testing the connection of the two computer.

They should belong to the same workgroup example HOME and set the computer name to PC1 and PC2.

You can right click MY COMPUTER then select PROPERTIES then you will able to see the computer name.

To start the wizard
1.
Choose Control Panel from the Start menu.
2.
Click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Set up or change your home or small office network.

Laptop cant connect wirelessly

Hey Charlie, If you re-installed your operating system you will need to get the wireless modem driver from your dell disk. For some reason they have not included the drivers in the windows software. If you can't find it then you can go on to the Dell site(obviously on another computer) and enter your service tag and get your drivers that way.

I hope this helps
