If Mac Office is installed, you can find your Mac Office by clicking on the hard drive, click on application folder then scroll down till you find it. Once you find it , open the folder , thenyou can drag Word,Excel,Entourage to your desktop and make an alias icon.

I can't open the the .doc files after mofifying them using office word on my Macbook

double check the extension to the document.
Is it titled "document.doc" or "document.pages" or "document.pdf"?
Select the document and right click until it says "open with". Then select either Microsoft Word, Pages, or appropriate application to open it.

How can i find ms word on my computer

Thank you for contacting Fixya Support, I will be glad to assist.

In order to find Microsoft Word on your Mac notebook, you have to first know if you purchased a copy of Microsoft Office for Mac 2004 or 2008. If you have purchased either of these versions, then you just need to click on the Finder icon at the bottom left corner of the Dock to open up a new Finder window and then select the Applications folder and look for a Microsoft Office folder.

If you see that folder then you just need to open it and click on the Word icon within that folder.

If you do not locate such a folder, then chances are you may need to either reinstall the copy you have of Microsoft Office for Mac or purchase a copy of the software if you don't recall ever having purchased a copy of the software.

Microsoft Office for Mac is a 3rd party software that does not come fully installed on Macs except for a Trial version which will only remain active for 30 days unless the full version is purchased.

How can i unhighlite the text in macbook word 2008

JUST READ THROUGH
Just wondering if anyone else was having issues with Microsoft Word from MS Office 2008, where you open the application, you type a few sentences, and the application freezes with the spinning circle of death that won't go away until you click the dock where it says "application not responding" and do a force-quit? You can leave the circle spinning for 10-20-30 minutes, and it never goes away.

Now for the weird part--this error only happens for me when I'm using a specific document on my computer. I can open Word, start a new document, type several paragraphs of text, and it works fine. But I've been working on an existing paper for about two months that all of a sudden started causing these freezes/crashes when editing it. It's about 30 pages roughly, no images, no big inserts that would take up a lot of memory (116 kb in size). And up until today, there were no problems. So why all of a sudden can't I edit anything on this paper without freezing the program?! I downloaded the Microsoft Office 2008 Service Pack 1 that was just released after this problem started, and ran all the recent Java and program updates through Software Update with computer restarts. I even copied the text from the Word document I was working on, pasted it into a new document, tried saving it as both .doc and .docx, and again the program still freezes when working with that text in a new file. This one baffles me. It's like the text within a document is somehow freezing the application. One thing I did notice is that the freezes seem to happen when I'm scrolling using a mouse wheel. Not always, but quite a bit. I suppose this is some memory issue related to several pages of text that the program can't render or process when you add new lines of text or scroll, but again, I can't figure why this paper I've been working on for months all of a sudden decided to start freezing Word today. Can you really only have 30 double-spaced pages of text in Word before it crashes?

Looks like I've found my reason to switch to Open Office, since I'm 3-4 days out from a

Hellow sir i tried to boot my mac air with windows vista cd.. but now a q mark appers as i try to open my comp..i tried all things now i cant even boot it up from my cd... ne suggestions on how i can fix...

Here's something to try: Boot the Mac up, and as soon as you've pressed the power button, hold down the Alt (Option) key. This will bring up a list of all the volumes (places) that you can boot the machine from. You should see 'Macintosh HD", or some such hard drive - Click it and press the arrow.
If that works, you then need to go into System Preferences, and click on the 'Startup Drive' tab. Select the same Volume you selected when booting up, and the Mac will remember to boot from that one in future.
If that doesn't work, could you post some more details please? The Macbook Air has no CD drive - are you using an external one?
Hope that helped!

I need to type a paper for class. how do i start? i have a laptop.

In order to type a paper for your class, on your Macbook, you would need a word processing application, in order to accomplish this. The most commonly used application, believe it or not,is Microsoft Office for Mac 2008 or the earlier version, 2008. However, if you don't have a copy of either and do are not moved to shell out several hundred dollars or more, I have another option for you.

Try Open Office for Mac. It is free and it does not take long to set up on your Mac.

Here are two key links for you to review for more info
FAQs about Open Office (Aqua) for Mac
Download Open Office for Mac OS X (Intel) Aqua

The word processing application you will need to use in Open office, is caller Writer" and it saves in all the formats that are readable in Microsoft Word for both the Mac and the PC.

If you have more questions on using this open source free software, please let me know. Always glad to help!

3 questions: my 2005 powerbook G4 is slow and

If you want to do some maintenance there are some free utilities you can download such as Onyx. Others that I remember then name of but are shareware are MainMenu and Cocktail. If you want to spend a little more then get DriveGenius.
However the problem here is that you were not convinced by your mac, you dont love it. If you loved it you would not be considering the hassle and virus-ridden pain on Windows no matter what. Have you considered a Macbook 13"? Trust me, Apple has never made a cheap computer, only a good computer. Your existing mac probably seems slower because you see your friends with recent Windows laptops and you get jealous.
I call it the Comparison Effect. Go to an Apple store and have a play with a Macbook, see how snappy it is.

Answer 2) Updaters overwrite old versions with new in general but maybe your hard disk is getting full.
3) Is it worth spending money on such an old mac? But yes, more memory will help. Check what model you have on http://www.everymac.com

He safetydrill shows in the window but when i click on autorun, it says it doesnt know what application to use, i am trying to install the maxtor one touch 4 on a mac

"Autorun" is a Windows package. You don't need to use any of that stuff on a Macintosh.
Just launch Disk Utility from Applications/Utilities, use the Partition section to define one partition in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format with the volume name of your choice. In about ten seconds, you will have a perfectly working Mac OS external drive. (If you don't do this, the drive will still appear to work, but will still be in a Windows format, which can cause certain types of data loss on Macintosh files.)

Ne macbook pro locks up

Hey amandarx8,

That really is not quite enough information to go on. What version of the Mac OS are you using? What MS Office application are you trying to use? Are you running any other applications at the same time you are running the MS Office application? This info will help diagnose your problem.

But to answer your question, lock ups are NOT normal. Make sure you have downloaded and installed any updates from both Microsoft as well as Apple.
