There are two ribbons holding the sections together. One is for the keyboard and one for the touchpad. They are hard work top get connected afterwards so expect some servere cursing .I found that asking my friend to do it with some forceps did the job admirably.

How can I open the case of gateway solo 2150? I

There is some information on FixYa for this already which can be found at the post below. Generally with a laptop, you'll have some hidden screws under a bezel on the top of the keyboard area. You gently pop this off with a small screwdriver and underneath will be the screws that hold the keyboard in. After removing these, you generally can disassemble the rest of the laptop.

Seem to be a screw in the case under keyboard how

with the laptop over on its back you will see two screw holes seperated apart by a couple inches right in the middle of the case. These screw holes are in the middle of two recesses molded into the case bottom. The screw on the right is the screw that releases the keyboard. Once this screw is removed, the only other thing holding the laptop keyboard is the 5 retaining tabs along the bottom of the keyboard. Release these and rotate the keyboard up and release the cable from the motherboard.

How to open the case of a thinkpad

First unscrew all of the screws. I think its best to put a piece of tape over the holes instead of taking the screws completely out. That way you don't get confused when its time to screw it back together. Then you have to take the keyboard off and probably unscrew screws under keyboard. Carefully remove the keyboard by lifting up ont the connector tab that holds the cable to the keyboard in. You really need to make sure all screws are unscrewed. It's easy to overlook some. If you have all the screws out and the KB removed you should be able to get it open with reasonable ease. It's been while since I have opened one of these but i think the lower portion where the touchpad is kind of interlocks with the upper portion of the case. Just keep in mind if you are pulling and it doesn't seem to be coming apart easily you have probably forgotten a screw somewhere. Good luck! If you get stuck let me know.

How to remove dvd from gateway nv54

If you are asking about removing the dvd device itself, on the bottom of the case there will be a single screw that holds the drive in place in the case. This screw is marked by a circle with a small wedge taken out. Remove this screw, not turn the laptop back over and with a paperclip, open the paperclip and stick one end in the black hole on the door or bezel of the dvd player, this is an emergency eject button. When the tray pops out, pull the tray and the rest of the drive will follow.

How to take apart hp ze5570us to see what is wrong with the plug socket for the charger? I have taken all screws out but the computer does not seem to be coming apart easily.

First of all remove all your components ie. RAM, hard drive, battery, CD/DVD drive etc. Sometimes there are screws located in the area where these components are located that secures the top and bottom halves of the case.
I suggest that as you remove the screws from the bottom of the case you take a note where the came from as some of the screws are different lengths.
There may be s strip panel between the top of the keyboard and the LCD screen, remove this first, it will be clipped in place and held with screws from the bottom of the laptop.
Next the keyboard should removed and keyboard cable.
Look closely for screws hidden behind plastic stick on covers, you need to use a sharp thin blade to lift off these covers to reveal the screws behind the covers.
The top and bottom halves of the case is usually held in place with plactic clips, start at an opening and carefully pull apart until a clip releases and the work along that edge to release more clips. Continue along each edge until you separate the case.
The LCD screen is usually secured with screws on the back edge of the laptop and possible with screws near the edge of the motherboard. Take care to disconnect the video connector.
The motherboard needs to be removed from the bottom half of the case so you can access the power connector.
Take careful note where you remove each screw as you need to put them back in reverse order.

Best of luck, have fun.

I have taken all of the screws out of the bottom - it still won't open.

The case snaps together. Try pulling it apart. It is designed to NOT easily come apart, so you will have to gently work at it without breaking anything.

I need to open my Acer laptop case to solder to power switch

Hi there,
this may not be your exact model, but should give you a good general idea on how to get inside. The key is prying up the top strip, that seems like it is going to break. Use something plastic or wood if possible. A screwdriver will leave marks.

Opening a Gateway Solo 2150 laptop

I found the answer on another wed site. I tried it on my Gateway Solo 1500 and it works! The extra screws are hidden on top. You carefully remove the small face plate around the power button. I used a very small screw drive to lift it off.

I'm also an A+ certified tech, but I've done notebook service for a lot of years. I just finished opening up a Gateway Solo 1400 and it was NOT easy! There are no screws holding the keyboard on the bottom of the machine. You can get the case open about 95% and there will be one area stuck, in the back near where the screen cable goes into the unit. There is a hidden screw on the top of the case next to the hinge. To get to it, you have to remove the two screws that hold the plastic hinge cover and pry off the cover. I only managed to find it after removing the keyboard, the display, and the panel with the LEDs and power button. (The screws holding the keyboard are on the top of the machine, underneath the cover with the power button on it.)

Twinhead 12D Laptop

Are you sure you have all the screws out, there is a small plastic disc on the bottom of the laptop underneath the card slot, this needs to be removed to access a screw (obviously take out plastic blank in slot first).

And there is not much reason to dismantle LCD either.

What is it you are trying to do.
