Its done by entering the service menu. The proceedure should be outlined in the service manual. If you dont have one I suggest you get one before attempting the adjustment as the service menu shouldnt be enterd without having the service manual. You can get a service manual st the following link for your model.

Samsung HLR5078 50" tv - replaced a shattered color wheel but the colors are way off with the new one - yellow in place of both red and greens.

I'm not sure you received the correct color wheel. Do you have anything left of the shattered color wheel to compare it to the new one? Seems if you got the correct wheel then the colors should of been the same. Color wheels spin at the same rate of 60Hz. The only reason why you would get the wrong color is that the color on the wheel is in the wrong placed at the right time. I would see if you can get a wheel the same # as your original one.

RCA DLP color wheel issue

The color wheel is a straight forward installation the indexing is where most people have the trouble as the color wheel needs to be indexed properly after instalation or the tints will be off. I always recomend that anyone needing to replace the color wheel go to this following link as they have the DLP service manuals which will help you get the set apart without harming anything and the site will provide free tech support to actually take you step by step with the replacement as well as the indexing proceedure by on line instant message and thats all free when you purchase the service manual which they email to you right after ordering. Is a very good deal as it makes the job easier and you will always have the manual and free tech support even for other models when you become one of their customers. Heres the link.

The jumper that you need to remove is a small usually black block of plastic approx 1/4" in across and 1/8" thick located near the center of the shiny silver colored apparatus into which the color wheel is plugged. Mine had a label that read FDB Bearing Color Wheel, BP67-00099A and two illustrations indicating open and shorted conditions. The label was just over the jumper. I pulled it out with needle nose pliers and the problem was solved. GndLoop

I have found that this color wheel comes with a set of instructions that includes getting into the service menu and setting the index for the new color wheel. If the instructions were not with the color wheel, you will need the DVD for this model to find the information on entering the service menu and setting up the color wheel.
