I have a problem with connecting my KVT-522DVD to my Ipod and controlloing it. I am using the KCA-IP300V lead and I have upgraded the software to 1.4.0. I am trying to control a Ipod Nano 3rd Generation. Any help would be extremely useful

I have just tried the solution but unfortunately my KVT-522DVD doesn't have a aux enable. The unit has a separate source for the Ipod. I have tried all possible combinations in the menus for this function. Thanks

To control the ipod you need to connect the ipod using the proper cable, this one here.

Ensure also that you are following right procedure, follow instructions on manual to control Ipod volume and file selection.

In the set-up or menu of the Kenwood there will be an option to enable an "aux" input. After that is enabled you will be able to select it from using the "src" or source button.

Have you upgraded both devices into the latest available softwares.

iPod nano 3rd generation is only partially supported originally.

Need a manual for a kenwood RC527

Do you mean a Kenwood KCA-RC527 remote? The documentation for this is available from Kenwood EU: http://www.kenwood.eu/products/car/accessories/misc/KCA-RC527/ . The direct link to the manual is http://images.kenwood.eu/files/prod/528/5/KCA-RC527_(EN).pdf . Unfortunately even though it is labeled EN, this copy is in French.

I can't seem to find another manual on the Kenwood site. (I even checked the U.K. specific site.)

I hope this helps.

I just bought a Kenwood KDC-MP439 and the box says made for ipod........ But i dunno how to use the feature...... Help!!!!!

This particular model is advertised as being "made for iPod," but this claim is a bit misleading. Most decks advertised this way mean "iPod ready," but require you to purchase an additional accessory to use that functionality.

In the case of the KDC-MP439, you can use your iPod with the deck by connecting the iPod to the AUX connection on the right side of the faceplate. Making this connection will require you to purchase a cord with 3.5mm male audio connectors on both ends (it's the same connector on your headphones that plugs into the iPod's headphone jack, only you'll need one with that connector on both ends of the cord).

If you'd like to take advantage of the wireless Bluetooth functionality of the iPod, you will need an iPod Touch (2G, 3G, or 4G versions) and the Kenwood accessory KCA-BT100. This component adds hands-free Bluetooth functionality to your stereo. You can find this module at many locations in a range of prices. For example, eBay has them for prices as low as $39.99 (may be a minimum bid for an auction-type listing; be sure to check the listing type if you go this route). Online retailers seem to vary between $99.99 and $150 or so. These will include a manual that should provide instructions for pairing your iPod with the stereo unit.

If you find this information helpful, please remember to give this solution a positive rating!

I have had a kenwood 50wx4 stereo head unit installed in my car for about a year now and have had no problems using any function on the system. However, i recently updated the software on my ipod to newer...

I am having the exact same problem with my iPhone 3GS and the 50wx4. I upgraded to a new software version and am getting the same messages. It's very frustrating. I read on the apple forum that if you turn the iPod/iPhone off by holding down the top buttton and home button at the same time, and then plug it into your car stereo whilst still off then the 2 devices will reconfigure (the iPod should come on when you plug it into the stereo). This did not work for me but did work for some others in the forum, worth a try.

Hi, i have just installed the kenwood kvt 522dvd in my bmw 320d saloon 2006 model. I cant seem to get the dvd player to work as it keeps saying that the parking break is off?

your parking break must be on in order to view video on the screen. its a common safety on most in car dvd screens intended to be installed in-dash

Alpine kca-420i when hooking up to alpine iva-d901 screen says no magazine and i pod doesn't power up

  1. Make sure your iPod has a fully charged battery before connecting it to the KCA-420i. When you connect it for the first first with low to no charge left, the receiver will not recognize it.
  2. Check all your AiNet cable connections. These connectors can be finnicky if they are not plugged in ALL the way and can come out when reinstalling the head unit
  3. Make sure your head unit is in Changer mode after verifying the above.
