What type of screw driver do u use for a lasko 2543 tower fan? I would like to clean it and have never seen screws like this.

You may need to check the owners manual. If you have lost the owners manual, you can download a new from this site for free: http://www.laskoproducts.com/?s=Manuals... Just type "Tower Fan" in the search box and browse through the results until you find your model.

Hi I did some research on shaft size and length with no results. Use a tape measure and measure across the end for that measurement, and the length. You can then find out the size of the prop you have found to see if it will work. You can also take your prop down to any appliance parts house or even a small electric motor repair shop which have prop/blade's hanging on there walls they can match you up with. This is your best choice as you need to have the blade pitch be the same also, or the fan will be out of balance and either blow less or to much air if the blade pitch is not correct. I replase blades day to day on a/c units and large fans, and I have a tool/gauge to lay on a blade to get the exact pitch which is very important. If it is a little different, it will change the amps on the motor if its pulling or pushing to much air due to prop pitch, causing motor over heating and failure. This is just for your information. I hope this has been of some help to you. I hope and wish you the best. You can contact me for any help you may need to come. Thank you!

Duo Therm kicking on the compressor, getting cold, but no fan!

Shut the power off to the unit, spin the fan blade to see if it spins freely. If it doesn't spin freely, (there appears to be a little drag when you spin it),the bearings are bad, if it does spin freely, then try moving the motor shaft from side to side if there’s any play in the shaft side to side then the bearings are worn and motor needs replaced. Then, check the capacitor, if it’s bulging even slightly, the capacitor is bad and needs replaced. Most of the time people replace the capacitor if motor seems ok. If capacitor is ok, turn power on to see if the motor is getting the proper voltage, if it is and not trying to run, then the windings are probably open, the motor's bad and needs replaced.

The fan motor could have been your problem all the time, because if the fan doesn't come on or runs slow, it causes high head pressure,
which causes high amps, which could trip your breakers.

Carrier Furnance Fan / Blower Doesn't Start (Model 58GP-125-GA)

sounds like a bad capacitor usually screwed to the blower housing (round or oval shiny can)
this gives the motor a kick start)
depending on the motor there is usally two brown wires that go to it
check the mfd rating on it probably 5mfd and replace it with a matching one
its a very inexpensive part
