No heat

I plug the unit in properly, the red light comes on, but no heat. Do you think it is the heating element in the oil resovoir or the base unit that the heating element connects to in the bottow of the housing? Can these
parts be purchased, or should I just buy a new fryer?

On my unit with the same problem it is the element contact located under the oil pan. The contacts obviously began arcing due to corosion or poor contct causing deteriotion of the contact points. I am trying to find the necessary replacement part. It isnt hard to replace but finding the part may be.
