I plug the unit in properly, the red light comes on, but no heat. Do you think it is the heating element in the oil resovoir or the base unit that the heating element connects to in the bottow of the housing? Can these
parts be purchased, or should I just buy a new fryer?

I am trying to find the necessary replacement part. It isnt hard to replace but finding the part may be.

My fryer turned off yesterday in the middle of using it. I have only had it for about 3 weeks (it was a birthday present just after Thanksgiving). I tried letting it cool down to see if it just had been on for too long and had a safety mechanism that made it shut off, but it still won't turn on. I also tried in 2 other outlets to make sure that wasn't the problem. Any ideas???

I have an Oster Cool Touch Deep Fryer. I want to clean the oil reservoir...is there a way to remove it from the unit so as not to immerse the fryer in water?
