Hi is there any way i can upgrade my windows xp to windows 7 for free

I am sorry. There is no legal way to do it for free.
  • The W7 is end-of-sale product. It is hard to buy.
  • It is security risk if you will install some cracked W7. Modified (cracked) unofficial installation sources include trojans or other malware very often.
  • A Windows 8 is good successor. My experience: The W8 is better than W7. Only some details (Start icon) are missing. I have modified the W8 setting, desktop etc. to be similar to W7 and I have become accustomed to W8. You need not use many strange W8 features if you do not like it. I ignore them all too: Loging-in by MS account, Microsoft Store, Bing search engine, Internet Explorer etc.
What do you prefer? A system for free or a Windows?
  • If you insist on Windows, you must pay.
  • If you need good system for free, use a Linux. The Ubuntu is very good option. It is working on all my PC's for years. I install it every time either as a sole system or as a second one. This my answer is written by Firefox running on Ubuntu Linux e.g.
You can follow the links, read about Ubuntu and try it without installation for first time. Requested contributing is not mandatory. Fill $0 or go directly to link: Not now, take me to the download

Drivers can be found here:

You probably need the Network & Chipset drivers, but make sure you get the right ones for your model.

I want to watch viddeos on youtube on my dsi because i just figured out how to put the internet on it but on youtube it said upgrade adobe flash player i dont know if that something you plug into the dsi...

Adobe Flash player is downloaded free from the internet. You need it to be able to watch videos. DSL has nothing to do with it. Just pick the version that matches your OS. If you are running XP, Vista, or Windows 7, then choose the one that matches your Operating System. Then choose the one that matches the browser you are running. Download and install it. Here is a link to the download. http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Install it an restart your computer.

When you go to LAN settings in the connection tab internet options on internet explorer, it has the port # and address right? What is the port # and the address? I think internet and explorer and very...

Firstly, disconnect your PC from the Internet AND shut the PC down.

This is incase it has a virus that is causing the problem.

Using another computer download SpyBot Search and Destroy from the Internet.

To do this you will need a USB Stick and another computer with an internet connection.

1. Navigate to SpyBot.com.
2. Pick your Language.
3. Click the SpyBot Search and Destroy link under the heading Products.
4. Click the Download icon adjacent to the SpyBot Search and Destroy application.
5. Select the destination to save the Application to. This will be the name of your USB stick.
6. Then click the Download icon adjacent to the Detection Updates and save them also to the USB stick.

Whilst you are on SpyBot's website, navigate around the site and see how to use the software.

Essentially, when the virus is particularly malicious you need to run an application that can detect the virus, and the PC should not be connected to the internet. You will also need to run the PC in SAFE Mode.

Consult with your PC's website (ACER, DELL, HP etc...) to find out what button to press to put it into SAFE Mode as you power on the PC. Some PC's it is F8.

You will need to turn on the PC and then press the appropriate button. Select the option to start the PC in SAFE Mode.

When started up connect the USB Stick.

Navigate to the USB Stick and Run the SpyBot Application from the Stick.

NOTE this will take some time to do depending on the amount of programs and files on your PC.

If SpyBot finds Malware etc.., get rid of it.

Note: When your PC is free of viruses then you can copy the SpyBot application to your PC along with the Detection Files. Then you can open SpyBot and set it up for Auto Scanning. Then, you can re-connect to the Internet.

I hope this helps. Regards,

My internet explorer icon is missing on the desktop and im using windows xp

Is this the only icon that is missing?
If so, find the folder C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer (assuming you have drive "C" as your main drive). You should find a file called "iexplore.exe". If you're viewing the folder with "Tiles" as your view option, you should recognize the internet explorer logo on this file.
When you find the file, right-click on the icon, and select "Send To" from the drop down menu. Another menu should appear, and from there, select the "Desktop (create shortcut)" option. This should put the icon back on your desktop.
Hope that helps.
