You need to open it up and inspect the PCB for bad solder connection or over heated components. BenQ made monitors for Dell, so look at some pictures of failed Dell monitors here to get some ideas what could have gone wrong with your monitors, post back what you see so we can guide you further: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Check the video cable, make sure it is not loose. Try the monitor on another computer to see if it works.
If not then follow these instrucrions :-
When the LCD monitor display is dim or flickers and or has a black screen then the fault is usually a faulty inverter or the CCFL lamp. When you look at the screen at a sharp angle and you see a dim image then it is a backlight problem and it is caused by a faulty inverter or a CCFL lamp. Had the same problem recently with a Benq FP71G+. It was still under warranty so I called customer care and they sent someone who replaced the board inside that contained all the buttons. I saw that the board was very easy to remove. He just unplugged it, and plugged in the new one. And its a very small board so probably doesn't cost much in case your monitor's warranty period has expired.
check your resolution settings and change to 800><600 and try again. If it does not work at 1024><768 try loading monitor driver In display properties it should show BenQ FP731 instead of plug and play monitor.
The problem seems to be with the monitor. When there is no Display,if you power-off and on again do you get a Benq Startup screen? If not the problem should be dry solder on the Invertor board.Try tapping screen lightly,if it comes on the problem is dry solder on Invertor board.
Provide feedbacj and rate this solution.
Resolder the power transistors on inverter board and also check them.If display is not there at all some of this 4 transistors C5707 should be defective.Check associated fuse and Fet which drives the transistor.
Also check with Benq ,Normally offers three year warranty.
