You can also try this. When you click on Print button and the window pop up - Click on printing preference and check the Size of paper in the Advance/feature tab.
If you find any other size you dont want, set it to the correct size you want it to print.
IF you want to make these changes permanently, Click on START Button and click on Control panel and open Printers folder - Highlight the printer icon and right click on it and click on printing preferences and change the paper type.
Try to do some cleaning and alignment. You can access that by going to your printing preferences and clicking on the maintennance tab.
Or, pull up the document that you want to print. Click File, then click print. Click on Printing Preferences and click on the Maintennance tab. The tab would have different levels of cleaning.
Print Only in Black and White: • Click Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes. • Left click on Laser to highlight. • Click File > Printing Preferences. • Click on the Color tab. • Click on the circle by Grayscale to move the bullet to that selection. • Click Apply and OK.
you can go to printers and faxes (XP) or printers (vista) in control panel Right click on the printer and click on properties. Go to advanced tab and click on printing defaults. It will pop up the printer printing preferences. choose the desired setting. To disable 2-sided printing, go to advanced tab in the preferences window and turn off the feature. Click ok to save all settings. Go back to general tab and click on printing preferences and set desired settings if there is a need. Click ok to save settings. Then, for all changes to take effect, click ok button on the lexmark 6500 series properties window. Try to print again. Hope this helps.
Check your print drivers for default settings. Chances are the default is set for color prints, not black-and-white.
If you go to your printers/fax area, highlight the printer icon for this model, then right-click over it. Choose 'properties' and then in the pop-up window that follows, left-click on the button that says 'printing preferences'. You'll see tabs for various choices. Look for a tab for color preferences and make sure it's set to black, then click on the 'apply' button at the bottom to make the changes.
Even though the printer doesn't call for new ink, remove or replace the color cartridge. First I removed the color and the test page printed at full speed. I then put in a new color cartridge and it again worked full speed. I believe the problem was somewhere in the half used color cartridge. Hope this solves your problem.
Yes you can. If it is just you printing you can go into printing preference. Then TekColor and click the black and white option. It will force everything printed to be B&W. You can only limit others to B&W if it is hooked up via ethernet with a IP address. Type in the IP address in your internet explorer as you would a webpage. Go to the properties tab then Printing Security Settings and type in a Color Permission pin. Then if you need to give someone access to printing color in the printers preferences on the layout tab click the advanced button, Under printer features there is a color access area that you can type in the pin to print color. If one color runs out it will not continue to print. It can cause very expensive damage to your printer if it trys to print with no ink in the printhead. So to be safe it stops the machine from printing.
Hope this helps.
