2 ac adaptors have stopped working on acer laptop

Take the battery out. Unplug the charger from the computer. Press the On button for 30 seconds. Then plug the charger in. If it works, then put the battery back in and you're in business again.

If it still can't work, perhaps the charger you bought is a dead one, just contact the seller to get a replacement one after all you have used it for about a few minutes. If you don't believe in that seller, just contact them for the refund and go to other vendor for a new adapter. I recommend the following one for you:

Replacing the OEM 18.5 V 3.5 A ac adapter with an 19V 4.74 A adapter for my c551nr compaq, should not give me problems, will it? It should be within spec, hopefully.

Specification of Compaq Presario C551NR AC Adapter:
Power: 65W
Output: DC18.5V 3.5A
DC Connecter (Barrel) :
Internal Diameter: 1.7mm
External Diameter: 4.8mm

But it's OK to use a 90w 19V 4.74A adapter on your laptop only if the connector tip fits your laptop.

Thefollowing three conditions should be met for you to use an ac adpater safely. 1)Output Voltage is within +/- 5% of your old charger's output.
For example, ifyour old charger provides 19.5V, then you can use a charger that provides 20.5Vor 18.5V.
2) Output Current is the same or higher than that of your old charger.
For example, ifyour original adapter provides 3.42 Amps, then you can use a charger thatprovides 3.42 Amps, 3.9 Amps or higher.
3) Connector tip must fit securely into your laptop.

I have the targus model APM65US DC auto/air adaptor and various tips. Which tip/connector is compatible with a Dell Inspiron miniu 10. Several look like the right size: #s 102, 104, 206, and 207. Which...

I know this sounds odd but use whichever one is the best fit and works. Also I suggest that you compare them carefully with the original noting differences in length, diameter and construction.
I think you will find that one fits better than the others. If it works and you don't have to push too hard to locate it, and it stays in firmly and connects OK then it will be fine.

I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.

We bought in the USA a KAV60/AOD250 and use here in the UK with an adaptor for the different electricity. Unfortunately something has gone wrong with the leads as it sometimes shows up the notepad is on...

Here is the link to a company in Canada that has replacement AC adapters for Acer. The AC adapter for the Acer Aspire One D250 has a DC output of 19 volts at 1.58 amps which is what the AC adapter at the following link has. The price is C$12.99 so it is relatively inexpensive.

If you are handy with a soldering iron, you might try wiggling along the wire from the adapter to the plug on the D250. You might find one point where the wiggling consistently turns the D250 battery led on and off. If so then you can cut the offending section out and resolder the pair of wires back together. Make sure you don't switch the wires around. The plug has a negative shell and a positive tip. Should check with a voltmeter before you solder the wires and also recheck afterwards at the plug itself. Also make sure the wires at the solder point are well insulated so as not to short out across the pair. If you have in any doubts about doing this kind of repair, it would be better to just buy a replacement adapter.

Finally, you may be able to find an AC adapter retailer in the UK so as to possible have lower shipping costs. All I did was just google search "acer aspire one ac adapter"....

I have the targus universal power adapter and can't figure which

If you cannot find the right tip, plug each tip in the Targus and measure the voltage of each tip with a multi-meter.
On the bottom fo the Acer the operating voltage of the laptop will be printed on the label.
Select the tip that matches the voltage that is printed on the Acer label.

Acer TravelMate Laptop, cord getting hot, not getting power

I would imagine the voltage regulator in the adapter brick it dying...it will fry your motherboard if it starts throwing off power spikes. laptops need good consistent power flow of the right voltage. Buy another adapter.

NEED SPARE ADAPTER NO N19B FOR KENSINGTON MODEL 70 W CHARGER

Save yourself a lot of time and grief by going to Radio Shack and getting a connector adapter. They have an "octopus" that will match what you need and then just be careful to observe polarity when you attach it. Steve Medley
