Thousands of us have had this problem with Canon MV600 camcorders, and now they have aknowledged there is a problem and are repairing them for free!! Or just remove battery and tape and send it to them - you'll get it back within a week, working like new, totally free. Just got mine back and filmed my 5 1/2yr old for first time since it went off on her 3rd birthday!

Hello there, you are not alone in this problem, I get 100's of other people write on this matter, the tape head cleaners sold are mostly a bit of non abrasive tape type stuff that would not clean a bit of dust off a shiny table, let alone a dirty camera head.
You need to get a proper head cleaning kit with the tape that looks like a white flat shoe lace, run that for 30 sec in camera in seconds your heads will be like new.
