I have an Acer Aspire 9300 running XP SP2. A couple weeks ago it started acting up. Now it won't connect to the internet through the land line. The wireless works fine for when I'm at school, but at home with the land line it will give the typical "Limited or no connectivity" message. Everything works fine when I connect the same cable to the desktop. And this laptop was fine until recently.
Re: Stopped connecting to internet through land line
Hi there, i had kind a same problem with u, the only difference is mine shows "connected" but i can't surf the internet when others in my network are doing just fine. 1st i tried to uninstall my LAN card driver and the reinstall it back. It worked, i can surf the internet but only for a few minutes. So i installed a firewall, in my case, i installed windows defender. After reinstalling my LAN card driver, i realized an unknown program tried to change some of my LAN driver files, so i denied the program access using windows defender. The problem solved !! Maybe it's a virus or spyware, i don't know because before installing windows defender, my avg and antispyware don't detect any virus/spyware. Hope this help, gud luck

The Acer OrbiCam is a built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam mounted at the top of certain Acer laptops. The webcam can record video clips and integrate with instant messaging software. If you are trying to use your Acer OrbiCam but it won't connect, the driver--a small software file that tells the webcam what to do--may be outdated. Acer provides webcam driver update pages for the Aspire 9300 and Aspire 5570 versions.
1.Go to the Acer 5570 or Acer 9300 Driver Download page (see Resources). 2.Click "MS Windows XP" or "MS Windows Vista" on the drop-down menu, depending on your operating system. 3.Select "Acer OrbiCam Bison Driver" from the menu. 4.Click "Save File > OK" and wait for it to download. 5.Double-click on the downloaded setup files to install the driver. 6.Go back to the Acer Downloads page, and select "Acer OrbiCam Driver Bison Utility 126.96.36.199" from the drop-down menu. 7.Click on "Save File > OK" and wait for it to download. Double-click on the downloaded setup files to install the driver. 8.Restart the computer.
