Question about Xerox Phaser 8500/DN Printer
The problem only appeared when printing from InDesign. The image is distorted by stretching a portion of the image vertically. The center two inches of the page are stretched to print on an 8.5 x 11 sheet. Other applications seem to print fine.
Have you tried a different driver? Most of those phaser printers have a PS driver loaded, See if there are PCL drvers for that product, and try that. I went on the Xerox.com site and they have both PS and PCL 6 and PCL 5 drivers, I believe one of those will help your problem.
Now that being said, If you are getting the stretching on other programs, then the problem is the drum motor encoder is getting contaminated with silicon lubricant from the maintenance kit. That will cause that problem, But since you are saying it is with one specific program, I suspect a different driver will correct the problem.
