Unplug and remove 4 screws from front of cover and see if the cam is not broken. every time it dumps ice this cam raises the bar to shut off ice making if the bin is full. may be it just slipped?

Ice bin full does not shut down.

It really helps to know the model and make of the refrigerator. The full bin on some models have a bar that gets raised up and if the bin full, the arm gets raised high enough to open the circuit for ice production. When ice is used the bar lowers and a Microsoft in the controls shut starting the ice production again. If bar is missing it will keep making ice until you raise the bar to the off position.

If you have one of the new type ice machines, some of them use infrared sensors and thermometers and the like to sense ice production.

If you have a fairly new refrigerator, it may be still under warranty and for small fee a factory trained representative can analyse cause and replace broken parts under warranty. Warranty information will be in the information package that comes with the machine.
Hope this helps!

How do i fix my whirlpool icemaker it seems that it gets stuck half way into icemaking and does not produce ice.the model is ed5hhaxv002 it is very frustrating i havce tried a blow dryer to heat the r

Your rubber tube is most likely not freezing up and therefore does not need to be heated but only you would know for certain. My experience with ice makes spans several different models but I've found the most common problem for me with no ice being produced is when the bar that shuts of the icemaker gets stuck in the up position because - ice cubes have frozen into a big clump, Ice cubes have jammed the bar by sticking between the ice tray and the bar, or the gear inside that rotates the ice cube tray is stripped in that area because of previous jams and needs to be replaced.

Doesn bring water to ice maker

If you have water at the door, the most likely problem is that the metal bar that shuts the ice maker off has been moved to the off position. Check to see if the metal bar is in the up or down position. If it is up, move it down and vice versa and give it an hour to see if it begins making ice again.

Crosley side by side ice maker makes to much ice !!!!!!

Most ice makers have a wire bar that senses when the ice bucket is full. The bar lifts up when new ice is made. The ice maker determines if the ice bucket is full by lowering the bar back down after the ice drops into the bucket. If the bar hits the ice cubes in a full bucket, the ice maker shuts off. If the bar drops all the way and dosen't touch ice cube, the ice maker continues making ice until the bucket is full.

So you likely have one of the following problems:
1) The wire bar is missing or bent. Check to make sure that when the bar is pushed up, the ice maker stops making ice. Most bars will 'click' into the up position so you can shut the ice maker off. Push the bar up until it clicks into the up position and wait overnight to see if it makes more ice. If there is no wire bar over the ice bucket, that is your problem.

2) The switch the wire bar is connected to is malfunctioning. If you push the wire bar up and the ice maker continues to make ice, this is likely your problem. You will need a new ice maker unit. Try Appliance Parts Pros or EBay for a new unit.

Ice maker water dispenser is stuck in the on position

The problem is fixed. I think the drinking cup jarred the push bar activator, causing it to be stuck in the on position. After pushing this activator, it cleared the problem. Thanks for your follow up.

Ice maker not shutting off

The icemaker should have a bar that is normally in the downward position (ie 4'Oclock) when the bin is not full. The ice falls into the collector and pushes that bar into a horizontal position (ie 3'OClock). These instructions are normally on the ice dispenser section. If the bar is not being pushed up then the icemaker does not know to stop. My only suggestion would be to empty completely the ice maker bin and check that the bar can be pushed from one position to the other. If this happens then try turning on again. I hope this is of some if not much help and good luck.
