Just type any password until your phone asking PUK code. PUK code is a unique number to unlock your phone if you forget your pin number and can be found from your sim card paper or asking from network provider. With puk code you can unlock motorola bt51 from old pin and you can set new password, but please pay attention when you entering that code don't make mistake for many times. It will not make your motorola unlocked your sim card also locked.
puk code is required to unlock a GSM sims card that has disabled itself after an incorrect pin code was entered 3-5 times in a row. if a puk code is entered 5-10 times, the sim card will permanetly block (disable) itself. you must contact the carrier of the sim card. (service provider )that issued the sim card to obtain the puk code. have a good day!!
As ginko correctly said above, The PUK is exclusive to your sim card, not your actual phone.
Easiest option is to obtain the PUK from Orange customer services. Call 450 from anothe Orange handset, or 07973 100450 from a landline.
Make a note of your PUK when you get it, because it will always remain the same (for that sim card)
If you have lost your pin then you can enter the pin 3 times, util the
PUK lock appears. Then you unlock the PUK calling the phone company
that provided the SIM card inside your phone (eg Vodafone, Telecom,
Tmobile, Orange, AT&T etc.).
Calling the phone company is
the standard procedure to unlock a SIM card, however, if you do not
want to call the company you can just replace the SIM card with one
compatible with the phone, as PIN and PUK codes are related to SIM, and
not to the phone.
PUK stands for Personal Unblocking Key, and it is a unique
identificative code to prevent theft, or unauthorized users from using
your SIM. Even if it comes with the phone, PUK code is associated to SIM card, not to the phone.
When you input wrong SIM card pin three times , the phone will ask the PUK code.
Usually PUK is printed on a sticker inside phone box.
If you have lost your PUK code you will need to call the company that
provides you the phone service when you bought the phone (eg.
Vodaphone, Orange, 3, Telecom etc.).
The only alternative is going to a phone shop, they will call the phone company , get PUK and unlock your SIM.
Some phones have also an unlock code, but this is not called PUK, if phone asks for PUK you need to call phone company. There is no way to get PUK straight from the phone. If phone is locked with Phone Lock Code go to a local phone shop, they will connect it to a computer and get the code.
The PUK code comes with the SIM card, the code is printed on the plastic card that the SIM card was attached to. If you don't have it only your network service provider can give it to you. SIM pin code: This is a pin code that locks the sim card until you enter the correct code. This protects your account, even if your sim is put into another handset. To reset it, you need the PUK code: Pin Unlock Code (PUK) If you miss key (or forget) your SIM pin code, and enter the wrong one 3-5 times in a row, the SIM will lock up, and you’ll need to enter the PUK unlock code to release it. You should ask your Network Service Provider for this code when you need it. Don’t try to guess it, because after a few wrong guesses, the SIM card will be permanently disabled.
