Good Day;

Yes, there is a TRICK of removal of centerboard. Remove back cover, after disconnecting the POWER CORD, remove 2/3 screws from black chassis frame, on back bottom, release wire restraints, look for two clips on front of black chassis. Can see easier if you remove speaker grill and small panel. Remove all golden type screws from PCB. Replace IC’s STK392-570 (2).

Good Luck, big IRISH.

You will need some one to pull out the power supply board. They will have to resolder all grounds. Please pay attention to ICs mounted on heat sinks, these will need resoldering. The next problem here will be a bad capacitor or two..replace these. The next board to rework is the signal board (contains rca and RF connections). The signal board will contain heat sinks as well and the ICs will have to be reworked. The main focus will be to resolder the convergence ICs. These ICs will have a STK XXX XXX number on them. The fix is kind of easy...its pulling out and then replacing and reconnecting that takes time! Thanks for asking me!

Tv tuns on but has a blank screen it has sound and i can scroll through the menu screen on the tv the same through all the input channels

Hmmmm, just happen to have the same problem. Since Mitsubishi has pulled tech support, there is not an available fix for this. But don't give up. You will need to pull out the power supply board (located on right side in rear). Resolder your vertical IC (LA78XX series). Do not short the pins with excess solder. Resolder the horizontal transformer, resolder the flyback transformer. Resolder jumper sockets CE,RG,DM,VU,DP, and EL. These are the connections between the two boards (signal board on left and power supply on right). Inspect the board very carefully and find any and all bad solders on this board, you must really look for these. Next pull the signal board out. Resolder jumper connections CE,RG,DM,VU,DP, and EL (these connect to power supply). Resolder the convergence IC800,do not short the pins with excess solder (STK 393 110). Replace capacitors C8c05, C8c07,C2c867,C2V17 and C601. Resolder the rest of this signal board. Other connections to resolder include behind the tuners TU1A02 (says RF), resolder jumper sockets KC,KB,AV1,AV2, resolder IC2p30. Please inspect the rest of the board and I mean you will have to take time to do this. Do not expect to repair this in one day. From removing the cover and reinstalling the boards will take time. I recommend you spend about an hour a day if you can. It may be two weeks, being patient and being very careful will produce good results. When you are finished, you will discover you still have a problem. But, in time this will improve. For some reason, this TV, will think it still has a will improve! You have to reset its memory. This comes with using your TV. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!

By now this aging TV has many, many bad solder grounds. The first place to start, is to pull the convergence board out. You will see an STK-393-110 that has rings around the pins. This is bad grounding. Please resolder this, and do not use excess solder or you will short the pins together. Then you should inspect the board for any and all ICs attached to heat sinks and resolder the pins to the board. Look for bad grounds on power resistors, transistors, diodes and capacitors. Also resolder areas where the board meets the other board. These are jumper jack connections. These can be a problem, solder as necessary. The second board to inspect is the power supply. It is the one with the flyback transformer. The first thing to find is the vertical IC. This is usually the reason you have no video. Please resolder the pins of the vertical IC.Do not to use excess solder or you will short the IC. Resolder the flyback transformer, horizontal transformer, power resistors, capacitors, transistors attached to heat sinks etc. Resolder the jumper jack connections that connect the boards etc. I cannot say enough, you must really inspect to find these bad grounds.I do not believe you need to replace any parts now. Just resolder and reinstall. This will take great patience and skill. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

The picture is blurry and there are red lines in all programs mainly on the right side. advanced convergence doesnt work and when i use my dvd player the red lines are everywhere

You have several bad grounds in the convergence board. This TV will also need a new convergence IC. I believe it is a STK 393-110. It has poor grounds on its pins to the circuit board. I would suggest you replace it with a new one, it would be heart breaking to resolder the original IC and discover it is bad. It takes quite a while to pull this board out and replace. Be sure to check the 2 watt less than 10 watt resistors too. They can be bad. And I cannot tell you enough...there are also many, many bad grounds through out this convergence board. Please really examine this closely. Solder any and all ICs attached to heat sinks, power resistors, transistors, transformers etc. This TV is worth repairing. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

My tv is flickering, and sometimes when I bang it on the side it will stop but then it will start again. I love my tv and don't want to get rid of it but need it fixed pplease.

This TV by now has bad solder grounds. This will take some time to correct. You must pull out two boards. I would certainly say the convergence board is the biggest culprit. You must resolder the convergence pins. This is just the beginning. With good lighting and a good eye (eyes) you will need to really, really look close and inspect all solder grounds you find. I can not say enough...inspect, inspect and resolder as necessary. You must really search for these. Measure all electrolytic capacitors with an ESR meter. Replace capacitors as needed. The next board, and of course, it is next to the convergence board and once again look for any and all bad solder grounds. All ICs monuted on both boards will need to have pins resoldered. Do not use excess solder, only enough as necessary. You can not solder any pins together as you will create a short. Again, use an ESR meter to find weak or bad caps and replace as necessary. All capacitors should be replaced with same voltage and Mfs at 105 degrees. This project will take great patience and skill. Expect to take your time and limit yourself to about an hour each day. Should be done in two weeks. You will need to take special time to do a good job the first time! Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

The TV was unpluged for one hour. Once pluge in the blinking green light started. Now it doesn't turn on.

For starters..Your convergence board is my first concern. If you can pull the board out, do so with great care. There are many, many bad grounds here by now. I can not say this enough. The convergence IC has been separated from the board. Examine the pins and resolder as necessary. Do not over solder, you do not want to solder the pins together or you will create a short. This goes for any IC with pins you resolder. Check the diode connections, resistor connections, jumper pin connections, connections where cables jump together between boards, capacitor grounds. If you can, check all electrolytic capacitors with an ESR meter, and replace capacitors as needed. Heat sinks will need resoldered tightly to the boards. Start with this and see what happens. There is much to do, with the one board. The next board will be the power supply, and you will have to repeat the effort just mentioned. But, try the first plan and see what happens.

Mitsubishi VS-50609 - Red convergence is way off, suddenly

You have a bad ground on a convergence IC. You will have to carefully pull this board out and resolder the pins. If this does not solve the problem you will have to replace the ICs. I have saved a few of these TVs with just a resolder job. Thanks for asking!

It would be great to assist you in Sony convergence issue.
As you said, for some time TV shows bad convergence in picture that shows its matter of lose/ dry solder joints in D board, specially on convergence out ICs pins that need to be re-solder.
There are 2 big black ICs mounted on aluminum heat sink on D Board of TV, below image shows D Board location in TV.
Resolder pins of these 2 ICs and also check any other dry/ cold solder joints in circuit board. I do not think of IC replacement as problem occurs some time.
Let me know if you have additional question.

Convergence on mitsubishi WT-46805

Mitsubishi is famous for this. You are going to have to resolder the convergence ICs. Very simple repair if you are just a little tech savy. Do you know how to solder? This is a 99% fix. Take the back cover off (unplug first). You will see a big heatsink on the board (6-8 inchs long) attached to this are 2 convergence ICs. Unscrew the board, flip it over and resolder all the pins to those 2 chips. Done

STK392s didn't solve the problem

Hi. Im not 100% familiar with your model toshiba but they are all similar so try this. (1) RESOLDER MEMORY ICS ON THE TEXT BOARD, A COUPLE OF THE LEGS LIFT OFF THE BOARD. (2) RESOLDER ALL PINS OF THE OUTPUT IC'S, EVEN THOUGH THE DON'T LOOK DRY: Q750,Q751 AND Q753. RESET CONVERGENCE IN SERVICE MODE. CHECK RESISTORS, CPS, & REPLACE ANY BULGING CAPACITORS NEAR THE CONVERGENCE ICS. As I said im not to familiar with your model it may or may not have the exact components I have listed in parts (1)&(2) But its worth checking just in case it does.
