Question about Avermedia AVerTV GO 007 Plus/FM Plus (MTVGOFMPS) Video Capture

1 Answer

AverMadia GO 007 TV card does not initialize with 2Gb of RAM

I have installed 2 x 1Gb DDR I 400MHz RAM instead of the old 512 (266MHz) set-up I had.
Now the TV card fails to initaliza on start-up.
Could it be related to the RAM upgrade? The enlarged address range? Speed? What else? Could it be that the TV card decided to croack right now?

    1. I was trying to avoid reinstalling the windows at the time. However it was long overdue so I did it anyway.

    2. I them replace the new 2Gb RAM with the old 512Mb. The problem disappeared. I will seek now RAM installation tips.

    3. Thanks anyway.

Memory Support
♦ Two DIMM sockets for DDR memory modules
♦ Supports 200/266MHz DDR memory bus

There you have it. I'm sorry but that motherboard does not support 400 MHz.

Hope that helps, give me thumbs!

I have a intel 845gvsr board, want to replace a Ram. What type of RAM is suitable for this board?

Your Intel D845GVSR has,

1. Two ram slots.

2.Maximum Amount of ram is 1GB for EACH ram slot.

3.Maximum TOTAL Amount is 2GB, (1GB in each ram slot)

4.Uses DDR Sdram at 400MHz, (PC3200), OR
DDR Sdram at 533MHz, (PC4200)

This is an example of DDR Sdram at 400MHz, (PC3200),

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=1354&name=PC3200-DDR-Dual-Channel-Memory&Nav=|c:1352|&Sort=0&Recs=10

(Not advertising for this website. There are many places to buy ram memory)
512MB + 512MB = 1024MB, or also stated as 1GB
1024MB = 1GB

Is their a special make of memory card, ie: ddr

According to: http://www.shopping.com/xPF-VIA-MB-FOXCONN-VIA-KM400A-400M01-G-6L-R

this motherboard has 2 slots for DDR (184pin) RAM,
and supports a maximum of 1GB of RAM per slot.

Note that DDR RAM comes in 3 speeds: DDR266 (slowest), DDR333, and DDR400 (fastest).

Buy the fastest RAM -- if the motherboard cannot run the RAM at "full" speed, the RAM will automatically slow itself down to a speed that the motherboard will support.

RAM Upgrade

let them install it for you. Go for DDR2 667. If it works, gret, if it doesn't scale down... But DDR2, and DDR 400 aren't nearly the same, they won't fit onto the same system, as their pin configs are different.

If the DDR2 doesn't fit, you'll have to go for the more expensive DDR 400.

you can upgrade to a max of 2gb on that board. These are your 1gb options: 1GB PC2700 333MHz DDR Memory, 1GB PC2100 266MHz DDR Memory, and 1GB PC3200 400MHz Non-ECC Unbuffered 184-pin DDR DIMM Memory. Install a set of any of these and your off and running.
