F2-E1 - Touch Pad (Keypad) Cable Unplugged -
Check the connection between the touch pad (keypad) and control board (clock) to make sure it is secure.
Select the 'cancel' function and wait 60 seconds.
If error code reappears then replace the touch pad, or touch pad and control board (clock) if all one assembly.

It appears your timer/clock has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.#$%^&

What does E1 and F2 mean?

The F2 E1 error on Whirlpool-manufactured ranges means that there is a communication error between the touch pad and the control board. One or both parts could be bad or the wiring between them has been damaged or not secured properly. If you press Cancel, does the error return in under a minute? If the range is under warranty, contact the manufacturer.

IF you want to try repairing the unit, first unplug (or trip your circuit breaker to off) your appliance. That will a) reset the error and b) allow you to safely access the control panel from the back of the range. If you are handy and willing to take the time, you can disconnect the wires and watch for continuity as you press various parts of the keypad. (If you don't see any response, try reversing the leads.) Make sure that the wiring harnesses are seated correctly. They can become crooked and not make good contact at either the keypad or the control board. If you get a response from some keys and not others, replace the keypad. If the keypad is working, skip directly to replacing the control board.

If you aren't handy, start with replacing the keypad. Then replace the control board if the problem persists. (Some vendors will allow you to send back a part if it doesn't solve the problem.) Please add a comment with the model of your range for the part numbers and price lists.

I hope this helps.

F2:E1 ERROR CODE

Hello Cjarboe,

I understand that your range is given you F2:E1 code this code states that the keypad cord is unpluged. If you find that it is plug in and the error code comes up again you will need to replace the keypad. Here are the dirrections to check/replace the keypad.

1. Unplug, shutoff power to the unit
2. Remove the knobs from the top of the control panel
3. Remove the endcaps
4. Unscrew the control panel
5. Locate the serial cable comming out of the keypad do the jiggle and make sure wire is tight on the keypad and control board.
6. Reassable in the revearse
7. Check to see if error code displays again if it does you will need to replace the keypad.

This range has been discontunuied by whirlpool and parts are hard to come by. Here is a link that I have found the keypad for $243.42 at the followign link http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=254959&diagram_id=28176301#d28176301

F2
- E0 Shorted keypad (also called touch
pad) 1. Check keypad connector for firm
connection (keypad connects to control board).
2. Press CANCEL. If error code

case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock). F2 - E1 Keypad cable unplugged F2 - E5 Cancel key drive line open F2 - E6 Cancel key drive line open F3 - E0 Oven temperature sensor (RTD) opened (upper oven,

F2:E1 Code

F-2 is oven temp too high, which would be a bad thermostat or thermistor.potentially. It could be the oven control module (which is probably what the guy changed out already).
Here is the code for kitchen Aid:

F2 - E0
or
F2 - E1 Keypad not connected Check keypad connector for firm connection.

WP Touchpad does not work.

The error code of F2 and E1 on your gas range is indicating a keypad failure or an Electronic Range Control (ERC) board failure. The ribbon connector on the keypad could be damaged or shorted. One of the buttons could be stuck or shorted on the keypad. There is a good possibility of a failed (ERC) board as well.
I recommend having a service technician come out and diagnose which part failed and repair your range.

F2:E0 is shorted keypad, and F2:E1 is no keypad connection, you need to replace the keypad.

You can find schematics and find replacements by entering model number here.

Whirlpool Freestanding Range Flashing E1,F2 and beeping!!!

farkle, outside of Gendos's excellent advice, the issue could be with the keypad. If your model has a keypad ribbon that attaches to the main board, remove it and take a eraser and clean the ends. Then reinsert it. On the board there should be two clips on the end where the ribbon attaches. Lift these up and the ribbon will pull out. See if this solves the problem...Catriver.
