Question about Gateway Computers & Internet
Call your phone company and tell them that while you are talking on the phone, every once in a while, you notice there is noise. Tell them sometimes the noise gets really bad and it is difficult to hear the person on the other end, but other times it is not even noticeable. They will check the line and maybe change out a segment of cabling, hopefully giving you a better connection.
Modems are twitchy. They can show problems with the line before you actually would notice noise. A small 'white lie' may help the TelCo get things running the way they should be.
