How do I block ads on a apple powerbook G4 12" with osx 10.4.11

TenFourFox TenFourFox fork of Mozilla Firefox ESR 31 for the Power Macintosh and Mac... is a mozilla-based browser for that is still maintained for Power PC hardware. Most of the current ad-blocking add-ons are compatible with this. You will want the version labeled '7450 ("G4e")' (caution, direct link to download!)

I am afraid the latest iTunes version will not run in your G4, also it is not possible to upgrade your G4 to one of the supporting operating system versions.

Macintosh System Requirements

  • Mac computer with an Intel Core processor
  • OS X version 10.6.8 or later
  • 400MB of available disk space
  • Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes

I have a powerbook G4 and just purchased a Seagate 500 GB external hard drive and i can not drag and drop do i need to format something or what ?

You should use the Disc Utility in Macintosh >Hard Drive> Applications>Utilities>Disc Utility to format the new externql to Mac OS Extended Journalrd or non-Journaled is fine.
For video applications I prefer non-Journaled.

Select the drive on the left side of the window to highlight it.
Select the Erase tab. (Top of window)
Select VolumeFormat: and Name:
In Secutity options select Zero Out Data, hit Erase (middle of window) and wait for formatting to complete.
Could be an hour or two depending on disc size.

I have a mac powerbook g4 and there a password preventing me to use the laptop i am worried because the person who gave to me is a password changer and has forgot it. thank you to help me

If you do not care about any of the files on the computer, all you have to do is reformat the drive. This will wipe the drive clean and allow you to reinstall the Operating System and essentially have a brand new computer.
Insert disc 1 that came with the computer and hold down the option key to bring up the boot menu. Double click on the CD icon to boot from the CD. Once your computer has booted from the CD, click on the Utilities menu bar and open up Disk Utility. Once this is open, choose the internal hard drive most likely named "Macintosh HD" and then simply reformat it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Once this is done, restart the machine with the CD still inserted and install the operating system that came with the computer. Once this is all done, run the computer like normal and the system will be all yours.

I shut the ibook off using the power button, now when i turn it back on it stays on the white screen with the apple and does nothing. I can here the hard drive but it does'nt advance. Is there a way to...

you should never shut it off with the power button unless it is not responding. When you turn the computer on, hold down the option key, and select Macintosh Hard Drive when it gives you a picture of a hard drive.

Macintosh g4 Laptop with 10.4.11 only starts in safe mode

You have a corrupt operating system and it's automatically booting into safe mode. I recommend you take your laptop to an Apple store, they will be able to restore the OS for you. If you're in the Washington DC area, feel free to contact me through my website.

Put the display to sleep when it is inactive for:
