THIS IS MY DSL MODEM NOW I BROUGHT A VERIZON BUT IT WON'T WORK
WITH MY CENTURYTEL DSL INTERNET SERVICE IS THERE A WAY TO USE IT

    I have a westell wirespeed modem mod 890-220030-04 rev F built in 11/2003. Is this still a useful modem or should it be replaced with updated technology?

Probably not - contact your DSL internet service and ask what modem they suggest.

Try a different ethernet cable. It could be that your cable is bad. I had that happen to me before. My was from the modem to the router. If it was working at the store and not at home, then it is cable. It is should bea cheap fix.

Blinking light on Westell 6100 DSL modem


I have a westell 6100 modem also- The light your are talking about always blinks- it blinks as long as the internet is working (it is sending and transmitting data)

Westell 2200 modem


You have options definitely. You can get it through verizon, they'll ship it to you free of charge. You can also buy it at any local store near you. If you're going with the second option, just make sure you're getting either an Actiontec or Westell brand, because those are the only modem that Verizon supports, even if you buy it outside. Since you're going to upgrade your modem, I suggest getting a Westell 7500 or an Actiontec GT704, both are wireless capable already. If you use XBOX 360, I suggest getting Westell 327 or Actiontec GT701 or GT704.

No Internet light, but an Ethernet light that blinks?


for westell 6100 modem usb driver installation follow the steps for windows xp
-close all programs
-unplug usb cable from the pc
-insert installation cd from verizon
-plug usb cable back to pc
-wizard will pop up found new hardware
-click next then follow instructions
-select usb connection on the installation
