Make sure no office programs are running.
Do a search for normal.dot and delete it.
Don't worry, this is a file that is automatically created by office if it is not present.
Corruption of this file can cause problems like this.
If you are worried about deleting it, you can rename it to something like normal.old

How i get data from html form to ms access or excel file...????

this needs to be programmed - i.e. when you submit the form it needs to be submitted to something (e.g. java servlet, php script, etc.) that will take the data and insert it into a data store (access, excel, mysql, oracle, etc.)

Is it in a single-user environment? You can save the current invoice number to a text file then ope that and +1 (which is the way that the demonstartion Invoice in Excel 97 / 2000 used to do it ).

Invoice & Order Minimize Data Entry - Especially Name and Address

Do you have Microsoft Access? If so, you could use that to create a database and an invoice form. You could also use Access to "dump" the info into Excel to track and record.

Otherwise, try searching for "Import Data" in the Excel help. It would be very difficult to walk you through the whole process, but if you have specific questions about certain steps, that would be more manageable.

Microsoft Excel files: File size becomes very big while saving.

Whenever Excel closes unexpectedly, "ghost users" can remain in a "shared" workbook. Excel tracks changes in order to synchronize between users, resulting in huge file sizes. In order to fix the problem click Share Workbook (Review tab, Changes group in 2007 or Tools/Share Workbook in earlier). On the Editing tab see if there are any "Users" using the workbook. If so, remove them by clicking "Remove User." When you save again, the file should be back to normal. Being this is a Microsoft product, I want to re-emphasize the word "should" from my previous sentence...

Increment a number per record in Microsoft Excel

For what you are talking about doing, Microsoft Access would probably be a better option. With Microsoft Access, you can create a custom form and have it automatically give a number.

Office 2003 Standard edition compatible w/ Small Business edition

Where were you saving the old Excel files to: c:\my documents for example. Is your new Excel saving or retrieving documents from the same location? If not, it will look like the old files are gone, when Excel is simply looking in the wrong place.

An installation won't wipe out data files--they're in two different locations. If you do a global wildcard search (*.xls) you will probably find them.
