Question about Maytag Neptune MAH6700A Front Load Washer
I have a Maytag Neptune Washer, Model MAH6700A. It has been stopping mid-cycle with an "SD" error - on all wash cycles within the "Rotary Selector". Sometimes the clothes do continue to tumble and may spin, however, most of the time they are still dripping wet.
I can use the "Rinse & Spin" or "Spin Only" cycle without any problem and it will finish these cycles (they are not part of the Rotary Selector Dial). The manual nor the Maytag Customer Service Line has information on this problem. It occasionally will flash a "D5" error as well which is also not listed in the manual. I timed some of the loads and it appears to be happening about 15-20 minutes into the cycle.
it appears that you have a door switch problem. the door latches on these machines are equiped with a mechanical switch and if this switch disengages in any way, the machine thinks that the door is open, even if it's not.
the code that you see is actually a "dS", which stands for door switch.
check the door latch, which is where the door switch is located.
