taking a blind shot this is what you may be looking for:
your error may be caused by a program (possibly your antivirus software) changing the permission's on some registry keys making them unchangeable by (an) administrator account.
check this ms website to see if the problem is the same you're experiencing:

What type of destop and how are you trying to get it conected wirelless or by cable. and whart type of router if you have one.
