Question about Mitsubishi WS-65809 65" Rear Projection Television

4 Answers

Picture Problem The TV is 7 years old. It now blinks shortly after turning it on and the picture bebomes concave. The numbers and letters appear to have a ghost image in red and green. Any crawl at the bottom of the screen (ESPN) also looks concave. It happens intermittently. Sometimes it blinks again and comes back to normal, sometimes it takes 3-5 minutes. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I have the same problem. It started out fixing itself in a few minutes and has progressed to warped all the time. The bottom is warped and the three colors shadow themselves mostly in the lower left corner of the screen. What repairs were made on these other 5 sets?

Mine is doing the SAME exact thing. I am hoping to find a solution before it does go completly out on me!!

Same here guys. Had this TV for about 7 years and it just started the concave picture with RGB scatter at the bottom corners. It comes and goes and is getting progressively worse. There must be some fix for this.

Post back if this works out. It appears to be a convergance IC repair.

Take a look at this video and determine weather you have a true convergence problem or you may just need to adjust convergence with your TV's original remote.

Hope this helps!

I have a 53 inch Sony Projection TV that is about 4 years old. The only service ever done to it was an inside dust cleaning by a technician maybe 3 years ago. The color started being more green over time...

Please count the blinks if it is a repeating pattern and post the model number. This is a relatively common problem, but the solution is dependent upon the model number.
Thanks,
Dan

The TV is a Phillips Matchline 55"; wide screen, approx 7 years old. When switched on the LED goes red then there is a clicking sound then the LED blinks red continuosly and there is no picture.

The TV is going into protective shutdown. What is the model number of your set? I may be able to help you depending on the chassis number.
