Question about Xerox Office Equipment & Supplies
That is the fuser fan. It is either running slow or stalled.
You have to remove the rear and top cover to access it. It is located on the upper right back side of the machine looking from the rear.
You can remove the fan, peel off the silver label then remove the small rubber cap in the middle. Behind that rubber cap is the fan bearing, It is dirty and needs to be cleaned.
You can flush it with alcohol then add a highly refined oil to that bearing, Replace the rubber cap and then clean the outside with alcohol, then put a small piece of tape over the rubber cap to keep it in place. Most of the time. I would say 75 % of the time that will fix the problem. If it doesn't fix it in the long term you wol have to replace the fan. Don't call Xerox directly, Go onto google and look up a business called " the parts drop". Call them and ask for Britt or Joe> I dont work for them, but have purchased parts from them for years. They are reliable, fairly priced and honest. Great people to do business with.

Hey, I know this is a somewhat old post, but if anyone else is having fan errors on their 7700, 7750, or 7760 you should replace the three fans to clear the error (part# 7750-Z2 ). Here is a video that shows you how to locate and replace all three fans.

I'm having the same issue. I also noticed the fan just below this located on the metal chassis is not running. It doesn't spin up at start up either. Anyone else seen this?
