    Ok,

Lens Mechanism is damaged due to drop of camera. That's why camera doesn't focus nor do tele-wide function.

You can find nearest Canon Service Center to get proper parts and repair of your A620.

    Regards,

if the lens assembly is not retracting then you will have to open the camera and service it.

if you proper expertise then please let me know i shall give you some help regarding the opening.

else its better to take it to a service center.

  • dewan nafees ahmed Sep 29, 2008

yes sure. this is a clear case of camera dropping and this can be corrected only by service people who will flash the memory and solve the problem.

    thank you

Lens cover will not close

YES, BUT THAT IS A JOB THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE PROFESSIONALLY, DUE TO THE ALIGNMENT OF THE LENSES AND THE POWER DRIVE FEATURES. IF YOU GOOGLE CANON POWERSHOT A620 REPAIR SERVICE, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET A PRICE QUOTE BEFORE YOU SEND THE CAMERA IN FOR REPAIR. IS IT JUST THE COVER THAT NEEDS REPLACED OR THE LENS? THE COVER MIGHT JUST NEED TO BE CLEANED GOOD WITH AIR TO START WORKING AGAIN? WORTH A TRY. IF I CAN HELP MORE, REPLY TO:

Canon a 620 flash

Here are some simple things to try first for a camera that won't take a picture when the shutter button is pressed, or with an inoperative flash. They won't work for every case, but they're worth a try:
