TV picture not clear

First we need to know a little more details about the kind of TV you have, the kind of service (Cable, Satellite or off Air).
Comparing showroom to your home is also something we need to know. Was the showroom using Cable or Satellite. Satellite will always have a better picture quality wise.
If you are using composite input for the signal path between TV and source this would not produce a High Dif picture Composite = Yellow for video, red and white for audio. If you are using Component source that will produce a HD signal cable is RED/BLUE and Green with different audio.
The best quality is using an HDMI cable, this is all in one cable and the sources is the best. One last thing, if you are using the RF *cable as source it will not give you a quality signal.

Gps singal lost

Often, when your GPS is in a "covered" area ... e.g. inside a building, in a tunnel, under a bridge, amongst / under tall buildings, etc... when there is no open space (directly) between your GPS and the satellites, your GPS will loose its satellite signals. If you're in such locations, try to find some "open space" and wait a bit for the signals to be picked up again.
Another common reason why the GPS doesn't get signals, or doesn't get the signals quickly, is because the "latest" satellite positions (locations) have not been updated in your GPS. If/when you connect your GPS to your computer (e.g. using HOME ) and download the GPS satellite (QuickFix) location information, your GPS will have the most recent locations of the satellites in your vicinity/region. With this information, your GPS can pick up the signals more quickly ... instead of having to search/scan around to find the signals ... which can take a bit more time. While your GPS is searching for the satellite signals, it shows the "signal lost" or "no GPS signal" message.

I've a problem. When i switch on the tv. It says no signal. I've thought of turning the satellite but it keeps saying no signal and the signal quality stays at 4%. How to do? Configuration: technosat.

firstly the satellite dish antenna must be correctly aligned to satellite you want to receive.
technosat setup" initial setup" select the correct safelite ,once selected u should see signal strength /quality then tune the channels...auto works best, after this you can create your own favorite channel list

Ive got a freesat dish and reciever but we get 90% signal but no quality any suggestions

Your on the wrong satellite, If your on any satellite youll get a high Signal but you wont get a high quality until your on the specific satellite. Astra 2A is for freesat. If you can bring that up on the menu then just keep moving the dish until the quality goes above 50% and that will suffice for a decent picture.

With the bell dish we have the oblong dish can get 100% signal for satelite 91 and 100% on satelite 82 but not both at the same time?

With multiple satellite dishes, you will get a lower signal strength on mulitple satellites as opposed to individual satellites. The reason being when pointed at one satellite, you are pointed directly at that satellite. With multiple satellites, you are pointed in the general direction of the multiple satellites so the signal will not be as strong compared to pointing directly at the individual satellite. Normally, a signal strength 50 or above is sufficient. I hope this helps.

Satellite stations

Make sure the satellite receiver is properly connected to the television and that you are on the right input. Then make sure that the satellite receiver is properly connected to the cable outlet (common problem; people get the co-axial hook ups on the box mixed up).

If you are still not getting any signal, see if you can find the signal quality or signal reading in the main menu. Make sure that you have a signal at least over 80% (a few 0's on individual transponders are fine). IF you are getting some of your transponders, it's probably an issue with a connection, the dish, or the multiswitch. If you are not getting any signal at all, the cable is probably not connected to the system.

Sometimes, satellite receivers do go bad (just like any other electronic). If you know that the cable is good and that it's connected to the system and you try to hook up another receiver to the cable and that one works, then you can conclude that the receiver in question is faulty.

No signal on one tuner for dual tuner box.. neither tv works.

Hi benray there is something else youcan do on that to make sure your getting the strongest signal possible. Youwill need to press the MENU-6-1-1 buttons on the remote. Select Check Switchand Test, after the test is complete select done and then check the signal andif there is still a weak signal we will need to re-point the Dish.

Have Direct TV using a Sony Digital Satellite receiver model #SAT B2-2 /Sony Satellite dish purchased in 7/97. I get local channels thru Direct TV. Recently, local channels will show on the Direct TV guide...

Your dish is out of alignment. The local channel satellite doesn't have as strong of a signal, so a slight misalignment will cause problems.

It could also be an F-connector needs to be replaced at the dish or multiswitch (if you have one). Sometimes moisture builds up inside the connector and corrodes the copper stinger inside.

If you go into your satellite signal strength menu and find the local channel satellite, you're sure to see either a weak signal or an intermittent one.

One more thing, if a tree has grown in the line of sight between the dish and the satellite, this will cause signal problems too. In this case, you either have to trim the tree or move the dish.

Hope this helps!

P.S.
The customer service reps at DirecTV usually idiots reading from a script with no real field experience.

DSR9SS PROBLEM

I would suggest to check the RG6 cable connections on the LNB and the receiver and make sure they are tight, also the dish may have lost the alignment and that is why you have low signal.
If you use some sort of switch in between the dish and the receiver, I would say to by-pass it and connect it directly.
Good Luck.
