NO SIGNAL: When trying to watch a movie, I continue to get no signal throughout the movie. We purchased a new DVD player, so we know it is not the player. It just started to display no signal during and through the movie, playing the movie and showing no signal frequently. I have ven replaced the cords for the DVD player, yellow, red and white.

Look for any loose contacts in RC jacks/sockets/Cable. Try changing the input device to something you are sure, works such as a DVD player.

Is the park signal wire supposed to be hooked to the ground side or power side of parking brake switch? I'm trying to install a kvt 512 for a buddy, and the dvd player wont work with out the park signal.

If you want to by-pass the parking brake wire, here's how.
Most wiring harnesses have a solid orage wire for illumination of the radio2_bing.gif and also have an orange wire with a white stripe for dimming purposes. Most radios do not use this dimming feature. Connect the brake wire to this wire and your able to watch your movies whenever you want. All the wire is looking for is a signal. It cannot differentiate between a parking brake signal and a non-parking brake signal.

Need Help

Sounds like you have a loose cable. Check that the connection is really in well. If the problem continues I would get a new set of cables, especially if you are using the ones that came with the receiver or dvd player.

Model DRC 8310 RCA VCR/DVD player/recorder combo.

Did you put a splitter onto the cable signal? If yes, the signal is attenuated to much and there simply isn't enough signal for the recorder to decode. Call your cable company and request a signal amplifier be placed on your line. It's usually free.
